Same, but mostly because I think bramble and Cherry Rye were worse than regular BCBS. If they're going to keep this up I'd like to see an adjunct that's actually an improvement.

Not to sound cliche, but when did you have Bramble? A friend and I puckered down a bottle right after it was released, but bottles opened about a year later were amazing.

It's also possible that there's some pretty high bottle variation.

I know I'm in the minority but bramble was my favorite variation (and I've had probably more then a dozen or so #humblebrag) when I had it fresh, and when I had it on Black Friday it was close to my favorite beer ever. Again, in the minority.

I had it both fresh and about a year better. Fresh it was awful, later it was better but still worse than regular BCBS. I've also taken down several pints of Cherry Rye thanks to a random keg in the middle of nowhere, California, and, again, regular is better. I've actually never had a fruited stout that I've really liked, I just don't think the combination works. I get that some people like those things, but if GI is going to do one of these per year, I'd really like them to mix it up rather than just "oh here's another fruited BCBS".

They need to stop using Rye Whiskey barrels and bottle a fruited BCS that actually uses barrels from the liquor it's named after.

Not sure on the specific barrels GI uses for the Rye Whiskey versions, but Bourbon can be made with rye as part of the grist.

That's fair. And I'm not a huge fan of Cherry, either. I just really like Bramble

And I agree that seeing a non-coffee, non-fruit BCBS would be fun. The ancho chili one could be great, or other spices to do something along the lines of Huna of Abraxas. Something along the lines of a masala chai could be interesting.

I'll be more specific. BCBS is aged in Heaven Hill barrels. Heaven Hill isn't a Rye Whiskey. I wish they would bottle a fruited BCBS aged in Heaven Hill barrels just like the base BCBS.

    Did You Know™

There are currently zero distillers, whiskey or otherwise, operating in Bourbon County, KY.

Heaven Hill (and, really, most KY whiskey distillers) also has lines of rye whiskey, including Rittenhouse Rye, whose barrels are used for FiftyFifty Eclipse and, yes, BCBS vurrients.
