The military is some ways are for shit, my son had to buy his own fucking boots because he's in the AF and is with the Army's 10th Mountain. They issued him his Multi Cams but didn't cover the boots, they were on him, they should issue everything you need lots of cross branch support now, next stop is bringing your own gun into combat. The guys married, they didn't need to tap him dry, bad enough being deployed and then getting the financial hammer from Uncle Sam on top of that knowing you have dependents back home. The insurance thing I don't know about, but I certainly wouldn't leave expensive gear in my truck, but you would think an MP report on the break in would suffice for Army purposes, it's not like he lost it or hocked it.

Jesus....you all want my lifes story, so here it goes: My insurance did infact cover it. But not until a month after the fact. I had to pay for the vest immediately because it was needed for a 2 week long pre deployment training exercise. Normally the deduction would have been held off until the insurance claims was done. In order for them to issue me a new armor they had to start the claim and collection process. My insurance deductible was only $200. Thanks for assuming I am a dumbass.

by the time I got the insurance settlement I was elbow deep in debt (credit cards, rent, utilities etc) and we struggled just to eat.

I am not being terribly hostile I am just tired of trying to explain myself to people that have no part in this.

You cover the folks in your unit, so do we, I figured you would understand that better than anyone. This will be over when you send what you owe.

from OP: "Hey guys, wow, this thread got a response from him, so I am grateful for that!"

Let's hope you get more than these excuses from him.

Not going to comment on the specifics of this thread, but one thing that always comes to mind when these bad traders pop up is that trading is a luxury, not a necessity. If people can't afford it, don't have the time to do it right or don't have the basic human skills to successfully execute trades then......

    DON"T TRADE!!!

What in the hell are you doing trading expensive beer if you have credit card debt? Talk about a major unnecessary expense...

Seriously. I don't have a loan or any debt, two income home and still trying to get out of the trading game because it is expensive. If a $1600 expense for 2 months could put me in a hole, forget trading, i wouldn't even buy a beer over $10 a six-pack. But, hey its your money and your life as long as it doesn't spill into mine.

Bad_Trader, please do something far more clever than I could come up with.

And for what it's worth, carrying a $1,600 balance for 2 months at ~15% APR (an average credit card APR at the moment) would only be about $40 of interest. Even with a 30% APR, that would only be about $80. I don't really need or want to know any more details; you're a bad trader in my book, regardless of whether your reasons somehow magically do actually add up. But your posts in here are only making things/you look worse.

I came here to say if $1600 is the difference between financial solvency and starvation then you shouldn't be trading at all. This post sums it up nicely.

I would consider this thread done. Sometimes life happens and there isn't anything you can do about it. Maybe things could have been done differently, but now everyone is talking about SGToliver's financials and debt which doesn't need to happen. I say lock this thread up and move on.

    Indeed.

And OP be sure to check in with if and when you receive or don't receive what you are owed.

I know for a fact a box is going out on Monday that he is owed. I reached out to SGToliver and due to his circumstances, I am sending the box in his place. He was very appreciative of that and I can tell he is a genuine dude going thru a rough spot in his life. I always try to give people the benefit of the doubt, I have the beers and I don't mind helping someone out. Pay it forward, right?

You are an awesome person, sgtoliver is still a bad trader who people should avoid trading with.

If you were a real american and not some commie bastard, you would tell sgt the beer is on you and quit whining. You want him on that wall. You need him on that wall. And if he is drinking some good beer while on said wall, the better we can all sleep at night.

Ok, I am german, which is why I am probably not funny, but before anyone takes this the wrong way, of course I was trying to make a joke.

I guess that concludes this thread, hopefully SGToliver stays safe in his deployment. I harbor no bad feelings against him.
