So I just harvested the yeast from my most recent batch and I have way more Conan (the infamous Heady Topper yeast) than I anticipated and I've seen people ISO it, so I figured why not give some away to the best homebrew community around! The first 3 people who respond to this thread will get a jar of Conan - washed twice, pretty pure and I can guarantee it'll last at least 3 months in the fridge. All I ask for in return is 1 bottle of homebrew or your favorite local beer (not nationally distributed). Cheers, and thanks to all for the help over the last year of brewing!

I'm hoping to do something similar in the fall, but will probably pack just a little in centrifuge tubes and let people make starters from them; it should spread a lot further that way.

Look for it when the weather cools off...

Funny, I have the same plan. I'm brewing with Conan tomorrow. OG target is 1.087, so I should have a good amount. For those local to MKE, look for a post in about 2 weeks.

Keep me in mind for those harvesting, I was hoping on doing the same but have no HT. I plan on harvesting some Hill Farmstead soon from some fresh bottles of Anna and/or Clara and could return the favor.

APreacher sent me some very tasty homebrews, that bay leaf brown ale was especially cool and unexpectedly good. I'm planning on doing at least 2-3 other batches before I use Conan again, I'm thinking it might be cool to pitch alongside some sour bugs/Brett or a good saison yeast. When I use it again I'll try to send out some more vials.

I would love to offer some from the cold crashing beer I will be bottling this week or from the huge cake I will have in a couple more weeks, but too poor right now to afford the shipping, however open to suggestions from folks unable to take advantage of the great generosity of others. Conv. me if you are in NY area and want to meet and get some, or have a way to enable me to send it to you at no cost to me. Wish I could offer a better deal, but am not in a great money situation right now.

Thanks man... I found a bay leaf tree and wanted to use them in something. I have received heaps of positive feedback and doing a pumpkin ale & saison soon... One of which will be getting my last 10-15 leaves.

As far as the Conan, thanks again !!! I made a starter with it and made an IPA that has been in primary for 2 weeks. I dosed it with some citra and Amarillo after 10 days, racking to secondary tomorrow and dosing with a second DH. I will send you a sample once it is done. Also will attempt to harvest the yeast.

Where in CA are you? I have a 3L starter of Conan that I'm not going to use (Had to shut down brewing until after the new year due to school), so if you're in SoCal and want to pick it up locally, happy to give you a shit load of slurry.

In the process of propagating Conan yeast now.... literally just finished the initial starter. May be willing to LIF after the first batch I brew which will be after I pick some fresh hops.
