New beers that really stand out?

Here's my context for asking this:
Ive been kinda poor lately so I have been more cautious about trying the plethora of new beers showing up all the time. I am having a harder and harder time justifying $10+ bombers and even $10+ six packs. There are just a bunch of really good beers for <$15/12 pack. You can commonly find New Belgium, Sierra Nevada, and Summit 12 packs for $11-13 on sale and consequently those have been my go to beers lately.

That said, I still love the limited release stuff and the more expensive micro brews, but Im not willing to take a random stab at them. I want a strong endorsement from BA or someone who's pallet I respect.

So, in your fine opinion, what are some beers that are fairly new that really stand out from the pack that I should try? 4/6/12 packs are preferred, but bombers are ok too.

My most recent stand out is NB's French Aramis IPA. For $5/bomber its hard to argue with when I want something out of the ordinary. http://beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/192/95887

Try and track down some Central Water's Bourbon Barrel Scotch Ale. Fantastic new offering from them. Should be around $12-15/4pk.

Have you had Tallgrass Ethos yet? If not and if you like really, really bitter IPAs you should give it try.

Ethos is great. I agree. Its a good value at $10/pack. Im going to try their plum Saison tonight I think

CW BB beers are hit and miss to me. I like their BB stout and peruvian morning, but hate their BB barleywine...and im not a huge fan of scotch ales...

    Good suggestions.

Ethos is great, also Deschutes Fresh Squeezed which I saw at one place on the shelves this week.

Some more new(ish) stuff, check out anything you can find (tap only) from Bad Weather. Windvane and Ominous are outstanding.

Well the obvious answer is Schell's Star of The North Berliner Weiss.

The Plum Saison was sweet as hell when I had it. Not for me at all, in terms of what I want in a Saison.

While I agree with this wholeheartedly, $10 per bottle seems a little high to me, especially in light of the fact that the OP is trying to get value for his dollar.

And on the topic of Berliner Weisse, Verity is their best beer yet, but Pour Decisions has yet to make a beer that I think is worth $7 a bottle, much less twice that.

Fresh squeezed is good but not great IMO. I wish it had a little more something. Definitely worth the $5 or 6 that it is.

Ill have to track down Bad Weather and give them a try.

Ive only had the Belgian monks daily ale from Pour decisions which was very good. I need to try the rest of their lineup

I tried plum saison and its ok. Not bad for the price but more so a beer for a nice evening with dinner than something I want every day.

I have to agree. Something just wasn't there. I kind of expected it to be sweet, so that was no surprise. Just kind of flat to me. I will definitely give it a second try if given the chance.

On topic of new brews, and saisons: Lucid's new saison, Silo, isn't bad at all. One of their better efforts.

If you can find a berliner weiss for much under ten a 750 ml let me know. And I was a tad disappointed to find it they were charging more for the verity than their previous sours. It is a little bit of a situation of a Sellers market, I keep paying the high prices because I have few other options.

If you can find Fresh Squeezed on tap its worth giving it a try. I enjoyed the bottles, but on tap its quite nice.
Also Urine Trouble at Surly Tap is worth a try if its still on.

White Birch just came to MN with a 5$ bomber Berliner but I'm not sure on taste yet, I plan on opening one tonight.

Absolutely this! I just cracked my bottle and this is easily the best Berliner I've had. Just wish I had grabbed more than one bottle now, as I believe it's long gone around Des Moines.

Just had this @ Republic Uptown. It's nice, just missing the crisp finish I would like in this style.
I would like to try this in the bottle format.
