Craft Beer at Lollapalooza?

I went last year and was insanely disappointed.

Goose Island was the only "craft" beer on tap and they only had 312.

 

Yeah, based on these choices, prepare to be disappointed

"The choices were Hoegaarden, Stella Artois, 312 Urban Wheat (from Chicago’s Goose Island), Beck’s, Shock Top, and Bud Light"

Pitchfork this year seemed to have solid offerings from GI. Oh well, good luck.

ya, my friends are running the "craft beer" tent (its actual name). There's nothing craft'y about it.

 

There will be craft beer at Lolla. I believe it takes a bit of planning, such as "hide cans of Heady Topper on person."

 

Pitchfork was sponsored by Goose Island while Lolla is sponsored by Bud Light. Doesn't make a ton of sense, but since Lolla is far more commerical than Pitchfork they're going for the mass appeal. Regardless, I'm jealous I can't go at all this weekend.

 

The craft tent is also the only place you can go and get draft beer. Otherwise you are stuck paying eight bucks for a bud tall boy. If you have a three day pass and are really craving a drink you can just go to one of the bars right by grant park and have a drink. That's what I did last year after a giant drunk man collapsed on me in the craft tent last year.

Nice. If AB was clever, they would have left Bud Light off the menu at that tent to at least give the illusion that the others aren't their products and they didn't buy the exclusive space keeping "craft" off the premises.

 

Horrendous "craft" menu at a festival with a horrendous lineup. Fitting.

 

I had cans of Daisy Cutter, Sculpin, Anti-Hero, and Hop Notch all day/night yesterday. Walked in, unckecked, with my soft cooler; brews on the bottom below the H2O and ice. Queens and NIN kicked royal ass!!!

 

What kind of corporate robot pimp would call that collection of euro trash swill....craft beer? More like Massconsumptionpalooza.

 

Anyone know the craft beer selection at Lolla this year?

Don't you know that you are supposed to bury some whales in Grant Park before they set-up the event and then just dig them out during the concert? That's what the teenage set does.
