    Mike,
I stated that they knew it was infected after the fact. After the fact that they had already served it! I completely realize that they did NOT know they were serving it infected on the day of the Jelly Doughnut. I don't see where I was insinuating that they knew it was infected. An insinuation would say "maybe they knew" I said "after the fact". Where was the second time that I insinuated it? I don't at all believe that they knew they were serving an infected beer or selling infected growlers. Maybe this will set that straight.
I know you love Pegs. This post wasn't aimed at Pegs, the service staff or brewers. Everyone there has been extremely pleasant. Christina and Eric are excellent, It was a particular beer that was bad. You are jumping into this in the middle and not seeing everything that was discussed. I wasn't looking for a growler of Jelly Doughnut, any growler or beer would have been fine. He originally offered "tickets for the berliner bash or a growlerl of something" quoted from the email and I said that was fine, I never asked for Jelly Doughnut!
I mentioned my experience in how they "made things right" for me. They didn't, it's pretty simple. And of course it's the RIGHT THING TO FUCKING DO. People paid $20 for a 16 oz. growler, it should be made right and I hope it will be. I would imagine that most of the growlers are fine so everything should still be fine in the end.
As to why I didn't mention it when I received the beer, I maybe thought it was supposed to be a funky feta cheese foot smell, I'd never had it before and didn't want to make waves. I know you and Dave loved it but the people I talked to all thought something was foul with it.

Finally, as for stopping by and letting them buy me a meal or a beer? Doug closed the door on any kind of recompense it his last email to me. Shut the door, so to speak.
    How about that hug now?

I was saving mine for next month, but now I think I'm going to have to crack it next weekend. Fingers crossed.

We have a plan for those who have gotten bad growlers, we won't reveal the details here but would like to put a clock on this whole situation. We are going to say that the growlers, while issued with no guarantee because they are growlers, should have lasted a month, our hope was more but a month for your average growler isn't bad. I wouldn't be all that interested in a growler over a month old stored in unknown conditions and I suspect most people feel the same. We are not saying I told you so regarding drinking fresh and in no way want to try to blame shipping, storage, or "handling" as a cop out for taking responsibility.
The last growler left Peg's on July 21st so that means Aug 21st is the last day to be part of the Peg's Fucked Up Club (working title) and so we encourage people still holding growlers to open them, enjoy if possible and if not please get in touch with us directly at [email protected].
The only way to make sure your name gets added is to send an email, we are reaching out to people here but we need real names and emails so we can be assured we account for everybody.
We are doing everything we can to rebuild trust after this incident and we hope to earn a second chance with everybody. Bad growlers opened after the 21st will certainly still be met with our concern and possibly something else however our plan for the majority of people requires a firm date.
For those who have had good bottles, we hope you enjoyed them, opened another tonight at the pub and it was dare I say, splendid. We appreciate everybody's passion for great beer and their patience while we sort this out.
If anybody reading this knows somebody who may not be on this forum or is holding bottles please pass the message along, we are not trying to cut this off and get away with selling bad beer but we honestly needed to set a deadline without inciting panic since there are most certainly plenty of tasty Rare DOS growlers still out there.

I received three growlers in trade. I opened one last week and it was bad. I'll probably pop the other two within the next few days...

C'mon, man, go back and read your original post. Especially the first and last paragraphs.
I've give you the first one, but it's the "LIKE AN IDIOT, even after everything I just posted here, I bought 9 growlers of Rare DOS and 3 each of the RareR and Nooner. I've sent most of them out to trade partners so it looks like Pegs has fooled me again" was the second one. You're pretty clearly beating them up when they're obviously trying to make things right.
You should also mention that in the same email he also offered to refund you the money that you paid for the growlers.
You know you can always get a hug from me, as long as you wear that Gator visor. Anyway, you have my number, give me a call tomorrow if you want to keep debating this. Glad to see I'm not the only one sitting home on a Saturday night. :grinning:

Ahh, now I know what prompted your post in the first place. I WAS REFERRING TO THE JELLY DOUGHNUT emails that Doug had sent to me a year ago. Nowhere was mentioned about any private conversations that I have had with anyone from Pegs tonight. Funny how you are replying about a PRIVATE CONVERSATION that I have had tonight with Doug. Where did you get that information from? WTF!

I guess I should get everyone up to speed on this thread. Pegs contacted me about my post. We discussed a couple of options, which are very fair. Apparently Mike is privy to my conversations with Pegs so I'll inform everyone of the final outcome. Sound fair guys?

And, for the record, I do believe that Pegs/Cycle is handling this well in this incident.

Take a deep breath, it's not like there's some conspiracy going on. I just gave him a heads-up that I felt compelled to reply earlier and during that conversation he mentioned that he offered to give you a refund. That's it. It's not like I'm reading your messages or anything. But I also didn't want people misconstruing what you said to mean that he didn't make the offer, to you or to anyone else that had a complaint.

No, he made the offer on the growlers tonight, but this whole post of mine was about my previous experience. Per my previous experience I would not want to post anything until we have worked something out and it happens.

I sent his info to Doug via Facebook. Pegs will make it right with everyone who received a bad bottle.

I know you do Rob. You've done a very good job of wrapping that person up in a giant cocoon so that it's going to take an act of God to get that person out.
