Good morning lovers of lupulin and mavens of malt!

I hope this message finds you ready for another Sunday with some liquid sunshine in your glass.

Today is a travel day for me so this one is coming from my phone again. I promise I will be home next Sunday and ready to engage in all the beer-y goodness that Sunday can bring.

Next Sunday will be the first Sunday in 16 months that I don't have to study so there may be a couple new brews ready then.

Enough about that...the focus is new beer today!! Try something NEW and tell us about it HERE. A good description is your only cover charge but linked reviews and pics are always a nice tip for us to share in your exploits from wherever we are.

Thanks for keeping NBS fresh, informative, and fun. Good day and good drinkin'

    Peace, love, and malty-ness,

    Matt

Good morning and Happy New beer Sunday. I am so excited to be tasting the beer I have today. It's Goose Island Bourbon County Stout 2012. I never expected to see this beer in my hand and I have someone to thank for it. (Thanks Kerry)

This Sunday finds me in a relative state of harmony and gladness as usual. I have a flock of deer this year that have had some handsome babies. I have seen a couple of males which is so unusual that I winder if food is scarce? I love popcorn so I have been taking it out to a distant tree and it's not ever much but it could help. I also have a attracted a flock of birds with that same popcorn. Nature is efficient and miraculous. I have a very tall tree at the front of my building and at least 4 birds will perch in it and wait for me to bring the popcorn in the morning. They speak to me because birds do and they are nags. I have to stop feeding them now because it's winter coming and they won't go to a friendlier climate if I don't. That is always sad for me.

Today I have this. I loved it. Happy New Beer Sunday.

    Morning, all!

    Let's get right to it:

    Beer Geek Brunch Weasel
    [IMG]
I've had this beer in the Calvados and Cognac barrel-aged versions, but missed out on the Bourbon barrel-aged version (and apparently a couple of Scotch whisky versions).
Nice, normal, warm summer weather here on LI.
Had my morning cup of coffee and screwed around a bit. Almost had some waffles and bacon, but couldn't resist the pull of my bottle of Beer Geek Brunch Weasel (hereafter, BGBW).
As you may or may not know, BGBW is made with civet coffee (Kopi Luwak/ca phe Chon).
These awesome little animals, civets (think raccoon meets cat), eat coffee berries, digest the fruit, and shit out the beans (lol).
People harvest the scat, extract the bean, and make highly-sought-after coffee.
Lemme tell ya - it sure is a nice coffee stout. If this beer is any indictor, I would totally drink the coffee made from the beans in their shit .
Right there (IMO) with Peche Mortel and Speedway Stout.

    More new beer to come!

    Cheers!

    ***New American Wild Ale Sunday!!!

Greetings to all of the NBS faithful!

The days here are still hot but the nights have gotten cool fast...very comfortable for sleeping, eh?

My first new beer for today, as I'm a sucker for anything sour from Cascade, is Figaro:

Nice. Two styles I didn't always like but have grown to love, huge, barrel aged Imperial Stouts, and Baroque music, been more a modern classical guy. Wonderful choices on both fronts, this violin concerto is awesome, as is that beer!

Good morning all you NBS BA's! Hope you are having a terrific start to your Sunday. After last weekends fall like 61 degrees for a high; this weekend has been gorgeous with temps just below 80. I took my daughter and dogs for a quick walk this morning, before settling on my screen porch with this beautiful beer. I hear a Cardinal signing away as I type this. Such a nice robust, coffee flavor with a touch of smoke. It is really rich and creamy. If you like coffee flavored beer, I highly recommend you try it if you can get a hold of it. Read my full review.

This is my first "spicy Saison," at least compared to what I have had. The pepper is very forward, but is still has a nice balance from the yeast, straw, and light citrus notes. It's quite enjoyable. My review is up.

In a loving way, I'm such a total piece of shit on Sundays (can you tell?).
So true - a total "off" day - and it's even worse during football season (so soon! so soon!) - just a lush, drinking beer, listening to music, playing video games (I'm worse than a teenager) - lol...

Lots of great stuff coming up in the ol' iTunes rotation - plus, I've been looking through my stored CD boxes plus got my hands on a record player (remember those? lol)... keep coming across cool stuff (well, to me, at least :grinning:)...

Greetings NBSers! I have several new brews, but no internet connection, so this will probably be only post. I want to give a shout-out to Chadmc3 for hooking me with some Gandhi-bot and 668, both from NEBCO. Tasty brews and I'll link my reviews next week.. Cheers and happy NBS everyone!

    Take yer pick...
    Motorhead

    Melvins

Since Great Divide's hit my area (ouch!), I've decided to try every beer they make as it shows up.

    Most recently:
    Wolfgang, a doppelbock lager.

I dug it, but admittedly, I'm no "doppelbock lager" expert. Only had a few, most noteworthy being the Ayinger and Kuhnhenn Dark Heathen (though that proclaims itself a "triple bock"), as well as the Brooklyn Brewery Silver and Samichlaus. I'd say this was pretty much par for the course as far as my palate recalls.

    Wow.
Making my way through the beers today, eh? ...plus the BGBW from this morning .

If there's more drinking to be done, it'll be the John Henry. "Colonial Cream and Brown Ale... aged on Brandy Oak Spirals" - I don't know what all of that means, but it doesn't sound bad, does it?

    See ya later.

    New Baltic Porter Sunday

Happy NBS everyone! A little while ago I just finished my first new beer for today, Lightning Brewery's Black Lightning Porter: http://beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/12351/35168/?ba=bluejacket74

I thought it was a good overall brew, a nice roasty/bitter porter. I'm too lazy to post my pics right now, I'll likely put them all on the "What are you drinking now" thread later today. Working on my next new beer right now, I'll have the review on here in a little while. Cheers!

Here's my 2nd and last new beer for today, Innis & Gunn's Canadian Cherrywood Aged ale: http://beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/10272/93987/?ba=bluejacket74

I liked it, it's a nice fruity and sweet tasting brew. It's worth a try, but it does come in a clear bottle so you might want to watch out for that. Cheers and happy NBS everyone!

    New Witbier Sunday

    Good Evening NBS,

Good to see another full day of new beers around BA.

The weather in Southern, CT has been remarkably awesome the whole weekend so we took advantage and spent as much time outdoors as possible.

It's great to be able to sit out back and write this review for a change in the comfort of a slight breeze.

This NB was pretty darn good and I think the "Double" aspect of it aided in my enjoyment:

    New American Wild Ale Sunday

    Greetings NBSer's,
Wow hard to compete with all the beer pics and (enjoyable) video's in this week's addition of NBS. Not gonna' try, but thanks to all for sharing a diverse set of music. Started my day "up north" and began the day with a swim in the lake, which is thoroughly enjoyable, except for the part of not knowing exactly where I'm going. Cool morning but the water is warm enough. Hard to beat that.
Made a trip to my Alma mater on Thursday - UWSP - and on the way home picked up some Wisconsin goodies, including today's installment of NBS. Hard to beat New Glarus on stuff with fruit and wild ales. Today is no exception.

New American Pale Wheat Ale (but not really)

Wrapping up another summer weekend in style. Attended a good friends's wedding in Detroit and had a family reunion across the border. It's nice to switch up from the Molson XXX after the drive home today.

Not a big fan of the stereotypes Odd Side decided to play on in naming/marketing this beer (even though I've seen worse). Not a bad beer, however I'm one of the apparent few who really likes what a traditional Pale Wheat has to offer. I know the hoppy wheats get a lot of love, but there's no need to dump a bunch of hops into a style that doesn't call for it. This is one of those beers that I can appreciate what they're shooting for even if it's not my cup of tea, so I tried to score it as such.
