Let me put my vote in for Trillium visits being awesome and everyone being friendly and polite.

oh wow...sorry you left this this impression, but not sure if you are 'Ken B' from yelp, but if so, then we can only guess you likely overhead/misunderstood a conversation. Around the time of that yelp review, Esther and I were having a laugh at the chris shea article that had just come out http://digboston.com/boston-beer-brewing/2013/07/on-beer-and-brewing-so-you-want-to-be-a-brewer-eh/
seemed he was talking specifically *about us*, how we were that couple w/ 2 kids, keen on opening a brewery, and man, were we in for a pretty rough ride to get this dream of ours off the ground.

I email/speak with folks all the time about their dreams about opening a brewery or becoming professional brewers! I'm helping a few guys, as much as I can, to start their own breweries with lessons learned from our experience. We were helped and supported (and still are, pretty much all the time) by other brewers/brewery owners when we were in the same spot.

Intensely passionate, geeked out on brewing...yes.

The type to make fun of people's dreams and aspirations? ah, sorry...untrue.

Thanks for the info. How busy does the tour get? Is there a limit? I'd love to go, but would hate to get shut out. I imagine only doing 1 tour a week it might get pretty busy

It was quiet this past Saturday, but even without an official tour the staff are happy to talk brewing process, the owner hangs around and the free beer flows easily. You can never go wrong visiting here.

As noted in the above post, you just can't go wrong visiting.

No idea if there's a limit for the tour, but there were maybe 8 people on the tour I took, and seemed to be room for plenty more. Great samples, helpful staff, cool tap room. Even in the highly unlikely event you don't get in on the tour, you can still talk brewing and beer with the staff.

I visited Trillium and everyone was very nice. They took time to explain their beers and answered a few questions I had. Enjoyed the heck out of their Fort Point PA and Dy Stack Batch #2. I will be back.
