Oh! Forgot to tell y'all about this place on Bandera in SA that has BB3. Called Docs liqour. They had like 6 or 7 last Thursday and the week before they had about the same. Same place I found BB2. Anyway it ran me like $5.50 for anybody interested.

Here's the latest wiki doc for BB release details. Only one Houston spot on there so far, but I'm sure it'll pick up as we hear about more releases.

This may have been mentioned but does it bug anybody else that these are bottled in screw top bottles or whatever they're called?

Aaron has addressed this several times on this thread in particular, and elsewhere in the forum as well with actual evidence. Basically he, and the rest of the Saint Arnold crew (well at least Brock:slight_smile:) are convinced that there is no difference. Having old Founders Imperial Stout and Bourbon County Stouts that used twist offs next to the same beer with pry off caps, I am convinced there is no difference as well. I don't think oxidation is increased in any way with twist offs. My "evidence" is clearly anecdotal, but the different caps don't bother me at all.

Yeah I was pretty sure it had been mentioned. This thread is too long. Haha I don't really care but was just curious. I can't imagine it makes that much of a difference but its just one of those things your brainwashed to think. Like bottles are better than cans

I don't fret about oxidation from the twist offs. However, they are more susceptible to being accidentally opened if placed in a cooler with other loose beers. krmkrm and lndsey will bear witness to the phenomenon of 2 lost BB#3's due to a twist off cap... In other words, it was a really sad day :slight_frown:

I don't mind chiming in again on this one... We have received very reliable information that there has been no evidence to indicate that screw tops provide any additional ingress o O2 than pry offs. Awinkro asked that very question to an expert on the subject at CBC San Diego. We really wanted the answer to be different as much as anyone, but we gotta go with science on this one.

BB2B was good  and I like the system they had set up to get a glass of it. It required a little more effort so I'd imagine it is lasting longer than it would if it were in the normal lineup of taps.

Email I just received from Saint Arnolds mentioned BB4 will only be available in bars and restaurants, no stores. Is this just a DFW thing or they aren't releasing any bottles to distribution?

That's how all BB releases have been so far. Don't count on seeing one in a store in DFW. Pretty much no place here will sell for off-premise.

NOLA gets bottles and DFW doesn't? How does that make any sense?

Everyone gets bottles. That's all there is.

Bishops Barrel releases are meant to be only bottles sold for onsite consumption at bars and restaurants. This was SA's goal. Some places are allowed to sell bottles to go due to the type of license they have (beer and wine only license, if they do growlers they can sell to go bottles).

No bottle shops are meant to receive any of the Bishops Barrel releases. I have seen it happen in LA for reasons I am not sure but very few BB makes it to LA as far as on aware.
