    1. What a beautiful facility. I imagine there is a lot more they will be doing and it will continue to get better

    2. All staff could not have been more friendly. As we all know, this industry is known for having quite a few pretentious jerks. Didn't find any of those there.

    3. Their pricing in the tasting room is incredibly reasonable. $3.50 gets you a 4 oz tasting glass that you get to fill up 3 times and keep the glass. Or for $6 you can get a pint and keep the glass.

    4. Their bottle shop had plenty of everything I needed. Very easy to shop, great selection and flexibility to mix and match 4 or six packs, and fair prices.

    5. Tried the Serendipity, Black Top, and Moon Man. All were awesome. Moon Man is just a fantastic beer. Wild was not on tap but I picked some up in the shop.

All in all an incredibly positive experience despite the fact I heard they were a big Obama donor.

Glad you enjoyed your experience! NG is a great brewery to visit, and the town is pretty cool too.

I've been to quite a few breweries, and New Glarus is one of my favorites. Moon Man is a top notch Pale Ale. Great choice!

I consider NG's brewery to be beer nirvana; that's how much I enjoyed my visit.

I am planning on a visit soon, maybe to O'so right next door, and definitely to Stevens Point brewery as well.

Having a Black Top while touring the brewery is one of the best beer memories I have. So fresh and delicious! I will be going back every time I go back home to America's Dairy Land.

How serendipitous! My wife just got back from a wedding in Wisconsin (near Green Bay) this evening. Brought me gifts of a New Glarus variety 12-pack, bottle of Serendipity, and a mixed six of various Wisconsin crafts. Looking forward to trying New Glarus for the first time! Thanks for the post. I'm looking forward to visiting... whenever that will be.

Was going to respond on something else, but it sounds like this is important to you: You do know that conservatives are far more likely to be weak AAL drinkers than liberals, right? Would it surprise you if the majority of craft beer brewers/owners who have any political convictions are Democrats--and environmentalists to boot? If you're so concerned about politics you have to bring it up, you're in the wrong field.

Sounds like a 5/5 place rating but for that last part! Too bad........

Who gives a fuck about who they voted for. My suggestion is to keep voting for who you want and leave the quality beer making to Deb and Dan, two extraordinarily welcoming and accommodating humans. I sincerely doubt they care who you voted for either.

Ignoring that last part I must say I'm jealous of your visit. I was hoping a trip to NG was in the cards for me on a recent visit to Wisconsin but alas I had to console myself with a mix 12 pack, Black Top, and a Serendipity I managed to snag.

I know some people who wont visit the brewery or drink their beer because of their various donations, I wish they were FIB's so I could still find Wild sour around here. lol

O'so right next door to what? New Glarus? They're like 90 minutes apart!

It's Wisconsin--90 minutes apart is "next door".:stuck_out_tongue: Not like Northern Illinois where you can be literally "next door" and it might take you 90 minutes being stuck in traffic. Of course, once you get out of the Chicago suburbs, there is nothing next door, so you don't have to worry about that...

I think you have that backwards? The 90 minutes apart being next door in Chicagoland would be accurate. But 90 minutes apart in WI would be like going from anytown to anytown would be more accurate? Anyways who cares really.
