Does anyone now if there is a difference between the PNC stout that has already been out on draft/was in the 16 blend, and the bottles that are being released next week? They both say imperial buckwheat stout aged in tequila barrels. The picture on bottleworks.com is slightly different that the bottle picture on ratebeer. I remember a while back brouwers said they were teaming up with 4 or 5 other bars to make an imperial buckwheat stout but when i heard it was the PNC Stout i was like, hasn't that beer already been released? I am thinking maybe the beer was brewed a while back and just got done aging...
Bottle release thurs aug. 15 @ 11am @ Bottleworks $20 per bottle limit 3, on tap @ brouwers, burgundian, botleteworks

I was told by our server at Brouwer's during Back in Black that we were drinking the bourbon barrel version that is part of the final blend, which must be tequila barrel more than anything else since that's what they are calling it.

They have lots and it is indeed delicious. Only slight tequila barrel in the finish though.

I was shocked at how quiet it was. My dad and I are remodeling my main floor bathroom, so we took a break to have a glass and get some bottles. No line at all. I actually had to wait maybe 7 minutes to buy my XII last month. Huh.

    Nice to meet you, BWF!

It was quiet. Wish I could of had it on draught and met some fellow BAs. Alas the lunch break trip and drive back to Issaquah wouldn't allow for that.

Good to hear its tasting delicious...

Wow, outstanding! Got my bottles from BW then headed to Brouwers for lunch and a draft (OK maybe 2 pours). The 3 of us were the only ones in Brouwers, I don't think thats ever happened!

I just stopped in after a short day @ work, picked up a couple bottles. No time to try a glass.
I wasn't expecting lines or crowds so no surprises there. I didn't count, but they had many cases out on the floor.

No lines for a limited release. This is the kind of stuff that must drive other regions nuts.

    I love it.

Yeah- that was lovely. No line, a couple of people sitting at the middle table, but no crowds to navigate while browsing. Grabbed my 3 & took a $6 flyer on a bottle of 2003 Bigfoot. No busses or people from Illinois to report, but it is still early.

Ahhh.Pretty tasty. As Ryan said the tequila is pretty much dormant until finish. Good to meet other BAs like Distant M. & company. The Dozer made a special guest appearance.

I've been at work stressing all day, but it sounds like bottles will still be there at 630. Thank god I live in the PNW.
