So, I've heard of and seen MBC sit on shelves for months, but never thought I'd see this. Went to a store in Brookline and saw Lunch that was over a month old sitting there (bottled 7/2). Think this is old stock that the store hasn't been able to sell, or MBC shipping a hoppy beer a month after bottling? The store is fairly well known and seems to push product fairly quickly, but who knows...

I have seen month old and three month old Lunch before. I highly doubt MBC is shipping old bottles.

Maybe I'm just used to it getting snatched up at the places I usually go. Most of the bottles I've seen are 1-2 weeks old tops. I've definitely seen other MBC stuff that's older. The same store had three month old MO.

Perhaps people finally reallize Lunch is a horrible value? Mediocre beer that's horribly overpriced.

Lunch the Elder has been taking longer to sell at my local in NH, but it probably wouldn't last that a month.

Not surprised, I think people are only excited to buy Lunch the first time they buy it. Not a beer I will spending that kind of money on a second time.

I remember when Lunch first came here it didn't sell like crazy and I would see bottles sit on shelves for at least a couple months.

There's one place in NH where the owner would get like seven cases at a pop and he'd take a sledgehammer to three of them screaming something about making Mainers cry.

Nope. Have a trade partner in Alabama that wants some MBC stuff cause he liked the Lunch I sent last time. Went to this store, saw that all their MBC product was 1-3 months old, and left.

Is a month old IPA too far past its freshness? I've opened pretty good growlers from other places that were older than that.

I'd drink month old IPA for sure, but I'm not paying $8 for 16oz of month old Lunch that's been sitting in a warehouse or shelf. If I'm investing that kind of money, I want 1-2 week old IPA. Craft Beer Cellar just got Lunch that was bottled a week ago - I'd drop $8 for that.

What on earth can someone in Alabama possibly offer a beer drinker in MA?

For $8, I expect the Brewery to fill a growler for me from the bright tank and get it to my house within 36hrs.

One time I lost $8 and had similar feelings after buying Lunch.

Can't disagree with that. Normally priced IPA, I'll buy under two months of age, but I competely get your hang-up with Lunch. I personally don't buy Lunch but I love Peeper and Mo and buy them only when they are under 4 weeks.

A month old? I'd never let a beer that old cross my lips. 1 week or less unless it's an imperial stout or lambic. You know, something that can stand to be aged for a long 2-3 months.

I've seen plenty of Lunch on shelves for a couple of months. Nowhere near as bad as the others, but a month isn't out of the ordinary at all.
