Going to West Palm Beach for work for 7 days, so I am looking for places to go. Looks like "Grease Burger Bar" or whatever it is, is a good option.... what else is there? I'll be working at the Cleveland Clinic down there, and I'm completely unfamiliar with the area, but I'll have a rental car, so I could drive if there are any highly desirable spots.

Looks like 3 hours from CCB, so If I get a day off, I'll probably try to make a day-trip there too.

Looks like I'm 30 minutes from Funky Buddha too.... so that's on the to-do list.

If you get a chance, and have a care take the trip to the FB Brewery. You wont be disappointed.

I live in West Palm Beach and here are my thoughts. A little wordy but here goes:

West Palm Beach is about 30 minute drive to the Funky Buddha Lounge in Boca Raton (the oriinal location). Morgan runs the show there and is a really knowledgeable, great guy. The Funky Buddha Brewery in Oakland Park is closer to an hour away from WPB. The two offer different beers but both under the Funky Buddha umbrella. Buddha Boca serves food Buddha Oalkand Park doesnt but has food trucks most night. Don't get me wrong, you should hit both if you can.

    Other spots I'd hit:

Barrel and Grain downtown West Palm Beach-- great gastro pub with a very nice draft beer selection including bottles to go. Their house burger there is the way to go. My #1 option downtown WPB.

There is a World of Beer and Brass Tap also downtown WPB but they are chains and disappoint me more than they impress me. They both do draft and bottles to go.

The Blind Monk also downtown WPB but off the beaten path is also a great place. It's known as a nice wine bar but has a sneaky good selection of craft beer bottles. Again, bottles to drink there and to go. Rarely do they have draft beer unfortunately.

I saw you mentioned Grease in downtown WPB. Incredibly good burgers but just ok on the beer selection. My suggestion either get a burger from Grease to go and eat at World of Beer (which you can do) or just go to Barrel and Grain which has awesome beers and a delicious menu. Keeps in mind all the places are within a few blocks of each other.

No real good bottle shops downtown. There's the Market on Clematis but their prices are crazy high.

Fun fact about drinking downtown WPB is the open container law. As long as your beer is in a plastic cup/container (and you're not being an ass) you can walk around the streets of downtown drinking freely. Waterfront is a great place to chill and look at the big boats, Palm Beach and the intracoastal.

A little south of downtown WPB but not too far away:

BX Beer Depot. Mostly a home brew supply store, they do kegs and bottles to go. They also have about 10+ beers on draft including some really outstanding ones. Don't judge the place by the exterior. The beauty is inside and out back behind the store. The people there are some of the nicest, most down to earth, good beer people you'll find anywhere.

Due South Brewing-Boynton Beach. Probably a 15-20 minute drive from West Palm Beach. Due South is doing some really great things and are only getting better. They also sell growlers to go. Too many friendly, knowledgeable folks there to name. Keep in mind they are closed Mondays. Also they keep their current draft list constantly updated on their website.

About 30 minutes north is Tequesta Brewing Co. in Tequesta, FL is also doing some really great beers and worth a isit if you can. Growlers to go as well.

A little further south of WPB is Coffee District in Delray Beach just off Atlantic Ave. Half coffee bar and half beer bar. 15+ beers on draft and a very nice, deep selection of bottled beer to drink there or to go. Chung (the owner I believe) and Melinda (beer slinger) are super cool beer people.

I love Riverside Market in Ft. Lauderdale but its a hike from where you'll be in West Palm Beach. I've found the best bottle shops in Palm Beach County are Total Wine and ABC Liquors. Google them for the one closest to you.

And if you need a drinking buddy while you're in town shoot me a BM. First rounds on me. Cheers!!

And if you go to Tampa do your research on Tampa breweries and bars. There are numerous really informative threads here on BA. CCB gets all the love but there are many really great breweries in the greater Tampa area.

Also in Del Ray Beach is a place called "Tryst" on Atlantic Avenue. I have not had the chance to check them out yet but my sister said it's the "kind of place you would like". Food supposed to be pretty good and it looks like a fairly decent beer selection.

I live about 20 minutes from West Palm Beach. You can come by my house for an Apple Brandy Hunahpu growler

I mostly agree with what TheSamKuehn said, but with these adjustments/additions:

    1) BX is great, but don't serve draft beer anymore (except during special events). Still worth a stop if you get the chance. Check their website for hours (http://www.bxbeerdepot.com/) since they close fairly early most days

    2) Due South is good people, but the beer is meh (in my opinion). They are improving, but it's not a "must stop".

    3) In Jupiter there is Specialty Beer Cellar (https://www.facebook.com/SpecialtyBeerCellar). They have a great belgian selection on tap and some cool decor. Bottles to go as well. Worth the stop if you're up that way, possibly on your way to Tequesta

    4) Tequesta Brewing > Due South

Don't forget the new gastro pub:
The Sybarite Pig in West Boca

They have amazing bottles and taps...and the food, my god the food is amazing.
But the first time I went their they had Barrel Aged BORIS on tap.
I had my first two Cantillon Bottles there.
I've gotten to try Gates of Hell and Heady Topper....
We even went on a roadtrip with the owner and a bunch of regulars up to CCB to get BA Huna...man, I love that place!

Tap list now has Good Gourd I believe, and Timber Beast which is an awesome beer. And they have a crapload of bottles.

I agree with most of the posts above, but have a bit of love for the Brass Tap in WPB. They do have some cool stuff (Bois, etc...) in bottles and their draft list is a bit geekier than most. Not Torst or anything, but pretty nice!

Not too bad. $4-$7 for most pours. It is a pretty cool place and the food is outstanding.

They did a caja china pig roast / CCB tap takeover earlier this year that was outstanding!! Really cool special events and I believe a big bottle share every Tuesday (I think) that I really need to get down there to particpate in.

I believe it's the second Tuesday of every month.
Sam it's usually awesome, got to try some bucket list beers. I always feel like I don't bring a rare enough beer, but everyone is usually cool with it. Might have a bottle of Zhukov to bring next week depending on how this week pans out.

If youre really desperate, there are a couple Brewzzi's which are like a chain brewery similar to BJ's. also keep in mind that Funky Buddha Boca is closed on Mondays, and so is Tequesta, and so is Due South.

Brewzzi isn't exactly a chain, but they do have 2 locations. They are like a BJ's but the food is better in my opinion. The beer certainly isn't bad, but isn't anything to call home about either.
