Top 5 breweries in Cali?

    Curious to know what you guys think... i definitely would say Kern River, Alpine and Russian River are definitely up there for me.

    Russian River, Firestone Walker, Alesmith, and Alpine for the 4 best... Probably Bruery for 5. Kern River is damn good though.

    Once Kern River gets their distribution fixed.. they may just creep up in those rankings.

    In no particular order, my favorite 4 California breweries are: Russian River, Alpine, Kern River, and AleSmith.

    Shit, I didn't know all those breweries were in Colombia!

    My favorite California breweries are The Bruery, Russian River, Monkish, Strand, and Almanac. Kern River would probably kick Strand out of there if I could get more of it.

    I hate these lists but here goes...

    1) Russian River. Lot's of people do hoppy beers well (Alpine, Kern) and lots of people do Sour/BA beers well (The Bruery) but no one does both as consistently awesome as RR.

    2) Firestone Walker. Same reasoning as above but maybe just a step lower for me. Influential in the Spirit BA beers so prevalent today.

    3) Sierra Nevada. Again many styles made and made on a huge scale. Execution is normally very good to great.

    4)Lagunitas. I appreciate the value of their beers. Not always the best but normally very good.

    5)Sante Adairius/Beachwood/Societe. The three best breweries to open in the past couple of years. All knocking shit out of the park.

    Honorable mention...Drakes, Stone, Alesmith, The Bruery, Alpine, KRBC and probably a bunch more I'm forgetting.
