I'm at NEBCO fairly often and will be making my first trip up to the Alchemist tomorrow. Ridiculously excited!

Southern Tier is along the way from NOLA to Pensacola? You may want to update the maps on your GPS my friend! Maybe Lazy Magnolia?

If you're going to the Alchemist, take the extra hour and twenty minutes to hill farmstead. So very worth it.

Holy City, Westbrook, COAST, and Hardywood Park in late July, plus Kane over the weekend. I feel like I've lost interest in brewery tours (you can only see so many fermenters before they're all the same), but the tasting rooms have all been phenomenal.

Oh, and I failed to input my response to the OP question...

CCB (today) and Funky Buddha (a couple weeks ago) for me. I've also been to Good People Brewing and Avandole Brewing in Birmingham recently, and went to Yazoo in Nashville earlier this summer.

SweetWater in Atlanta this past weekend. Can't beat $10 or $13 for a glass and 6 tasting tickets that get you over half a glass of any beer they have on tap in their two tap rooms. And then you get a tour on top of that.

But SoCal, especially San Diego county, has them lined up relatively close together. In San Diego, people do a round of 4, 5 or 6 breweries in an afternoon, like people visit wineries in Napa or Sonoma. I was just thinking that I probably hit 15 top notch breweries in a month there without trying or realizing it.

Most recent was Leinenkugel's on Sunday. I generally like regional brewery tours of places this size and had never been here before and was happy to be going. But I have to say that it was a let down. I have a feeling that a lot of it had to do with the tour guide that we had. She was obviously a former HS cheerleader who had that weird raspy, loud, yet sing songy way of speaking. After two minutes my gf and I each thought about bailing, but we stuck it out. Why, I am not sure, because it never got more tolerable and made it hard for anybody to even follow what she was saying. I didn't expect much out of the samples and that met my expectations, although generally that wouldn't have been an issue if the tour was better. Also, didn't like the fact that they pictures were banned inside the brewery. Nothing exceptional was going on inside, but when being inside a 100+ year old brewery, taking photos is probably the best part about it.

I ride my bike through Miller Valley pretty often and peak inside once I a while. I'm trying ti figure out how they make my neighborhood smell so good but the beer taste so bad.
