North Carolina gets Epic brewing, so if you like BB stouts and can find one, grab a big bad baptist. IMO better than BA Boris and is $12 by me

Definitely not worth it. As explained before, for that amount of money, I want something very memorable, different, or rare.

if you like BA stouts, Barrel Aged BORIS from hoppin frog would be a fine victory beer.

BORIS and DORIS are amazing stouts. The Barrel aged versions are even better! In OH BORIS runs about $9 and DORIS $11. $25 is too much.

Just had a bottle of Hoppin Frog Gangster Frog, it was delicious ( similar taste and smell to heady topper IMO ). Also have a couple bottles of Barrel Aged B.O.R.I.S. Oatmeal Imperial Stout in my cellar. In PA around my area the Gangster Frog was 10 bucks a bottle and the Barrel Aged BORIS was 18. I think 24 is high but I've never bought beer in North Carolina.

This is part of what makes me mad as a consumer. I understand the prices involved in shipping, but to see a beer's price jump so dramatically one or two states away keeps me - and others - away from trying them. Why is a beer only $9 in its own state but I have to sell it for almost $30 a bomber? Do we blame the distributors? Does the brewery set the initial price and we, the purveyors, have no choice but to adhere to the markup? Why are some breweries so expensive when others farther away aren't? I can retail Ballast Point bombers for $6 and they're out of California. Why is Hoppin' Frog priced where it is and they're closer? It'd be nice to see uniformity, but I understand the x-factors at play; barrel output being the primary.

How readily available is the Victory at Sea Vanilla on the East Coast (NE or mid-atlantic)?

TL,DR - Lotsa costs are passed to consumer. Even given that, prices rise inexplicably and quickly.

I'll ring in with shelves full here in Mid Hudson Valley, New York.

You are a purveyor and you do not understand the dynamics at play with this luxury commodity?

Which bottle store are you going to bob's wine on raeford or grapes and hops on Ramsey or some other place? i know grapes and hops was opening up by linden oaks. Every time I would go in there their selection was ok. I would agree with a good strong Belgian (triple or quad) but for a bigger selection, you may want to try whole foods in Cary or total wine at crossroads plaza. Either that or trek out to Asheville for local brew there.

    Congrats on the ETS!

These prices are what we're getting in Toledo. I was having a hard time believing these are double or more in other states. Is this common with Hoppin' Frog?

EDIT: FT: reasonably priced Hoppin' Frog beers.

Hoppin' Frog is very expensive here in upstate NY as well. I walked on by. "How much for that bomber?"

You know, it's your party...You have the curiosity, I suggest: satisfy it!

I've tried a few of their stouts and really enjoyed them. Had their Xmas ale on tap in January while home in Ohio for a funeral - also excellent stuff. If you've got several choices, buy several varieties, consume, and (hopefully) enjoy to the max...

    Thanks for your service, too.

P.S. I opted for a B-17 flight when I retired, but you can buy a hell of a lot of beers for what I paid for that experience. Either one (or both) are a great way to celebrate a life experience...

Thank you! And I go to both actually, haven't been to Cary though. Grapes and Hops has a smaller selection but it's a little cheaper and always changing.

Can't believe Hoppin' Frog costs that much over there. IL has BORIS for $11, DORIS $13, and BA BORIS $18

Didn't read all these posts but hit me up, if u get me a shipping label I will send you a Barille Aios! If I send enough BA love out there maybe I will land what has become my personal whale! TheVanillaBC! Regardless, hit me up and I'll send you this great beer...I have a case so to give one to someone who has put himself on the line to protect my way of life is a no brainer.
