    we only use freshly emptied barrels, no second use ones. we do not blend back any of our barrel aged beers either. we really feel to make the best product the only way to go is a freshly dumped barrel that we use once, then retire it. in our experience, with how long we age our beers (15+ months), you would be getting virtually no liquor character from a second use, only wood character. this isn't ultimately what we're after with these beers.
