So my wife and I flew in to San Francisco from Minnesoolis and drove to Sonoma for a little holiday before a wedding . We were only in Sonoma for about 2 days because we are driving to Truckee/Tahoe area today for a wedding. I had been planning for months to stop at RR and the day I show up they have a sign that says the power was out and they were closed until further notice. (I about cried) anyway I had grand plans of brining back a bunch of temptation and supplication to the Midwest, obviously that didnt happen. I was able to grab 2 supplications at a local bottle shop, but I am still looking to track down more if possible. This brings me to my question, are there any good otter shops in the Truckee/Tahoe area that might have any RR sours in? I have a box I need to get filled with something. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
Here are 2 lists of places that MAY have RR sours. I'd give them a call first though. http://russianriverbrewing.com/sacramento-area-distributor/ http://russianriverbrewing.com/bay-area-distributors/
Ah, you should have stopped by Bottle Barn in Santa Rosa as they usually have RR bottles (among other things). Sorry about your bad luck with RR's electrical issues that day.
There is a spot in Tahoe that carries a few Russian River beers...last time I was there, Supplication was one of them. Problem is the right name eludes me. It's either King Liquors or Keys Liquors.
I think those are South shore. Looks like from the RR distro list that New Moon and Lakeview Wine might be your best bets. They're in Tahoe City, near Truckee, N Lake.
These are listed too: . Trokay Cafe 10115 Donner Pass Rd SC U Truckee . Z Deli Marketplace 12716 Northwoods Blv Truckee
Last time I was in South Shore, there is a kind of run-down 7-11 looking liquor store right across the street from Lakeland Village and Heidi's breakfast joint, and they had more RR than I was expecting. Worth a shot since it's on the main drag
They seem to have some serious electrical problems at RR. I think I've probably been there 10-12 times total, and twice the power cut out while we were there. (Lots of jokes about, 'oh, guess we'll have to stay here till it comes back on, no matter how long it takes,' yuk yuk etc.) Wonder what the deal is?
I'm sure someone in the Santa Rosa area would be happy to send you a Russian River box if you were to send out a Minnesota box in return. Surly cans are not that hard to pack, btw. Also, though it may not do you good now, Bottle Barn Santa Rosa (as someone mentioned above) sells RR product at a price slightly cheaper than at the actual brewery.
The problem is the downtown area. I heard they used to be on a hospital grid and it would never go out, but something has changed and now that whole area of downtown has seen a lot of power outages lately.
