Hey BAs Taking the Cicerone on Wednesday in Chicago. Was hoping to get some good recs on what to check out while I am in town. Already considering: Revolution, GI, Pipeworks. Might check out howell and hood but I have a feeling its 350 lines of a lot of beers that I have already had/are available to me in Indiana. Thanks for any advice.
Assuming you mean looking for Pipeworks on draft? Because they don't have a store or a tap room and generally aren't open to the public. Local Option has a few of their beers on tap right now - they might last until Wednesday. Also, Howells & Hoods doesn't actually have 350 different beers -- just 350 taps and ~115 different beers. There are some decent beers to be had, too, but you're probably better off sticking to any of the other beer bars in the city.
I'd suggest hitting up Half Acre taproom and then walking down the block to eat at Bad Apple (also have an amazing beer menu).
I don't think Benny's has any craft beer. N/m, they do ... http://bennyschophouse.com/bar-lounge/beer/
Don't worry OP, every time someone asks about what to do in Chicago it is met with annoyed responses. There are many threads about what are good beer and non-beer places. Here is a pretty good thread to read through: http://beeradvocate.com/community/threads/best-of-chicago.20793/
