It's kinda strange . . . the last several times I've posted FT: Pliny offers, I've gotten exactly zero responses. I've been specific about my ISOs, but no one's even said, "don't have it, but how about . . ."

Six months ago, my Inbox jammed every time I put Pliny up for trade.

Any thoughts? Has the perception that "Pliny's overrated" finally won out?

I'm not overly concerned--it just means more Pliny for me. Still, I'm wondering.

Heady Topper is the new Pliny.

Does that make double sunshine the new heady?

Looking back on your last couple of FT: Pliny posts, it could also just be what you're ISO. Pliny is delicious (and completely worth trading for IMO), but I know that personally, after I've made a trip to VT to load up on hoppy stuff, if I have extra to trade I'm usually looking to trade for things I can take my time and drink (sours, stouts, etc)... not more hoppy beers that I need to drink relatively quickly along with the Heady, DS and HF I just bought.

Could also be a case of people wanting to "tick" Pliny, but it's definitely worth drinking more than just once. Anyway, if you're looking for Heady/Pliny you might have better luck with RR sours for the reasons I mentioned above.

That's an excellent point, and pretty much where I am right now with trading--since I mostly drink IPA/APAs, I'm having to get through them faster than I really want to. I'm just starting to dip my toes into sours.

personally i never trade for it because after having it on draft and out of bottles multiple times, i've decided it's not worth the cost to ship it halfway across the country when i have great breweries in my town who make beer that is just as good in the same style.

heady topper on the other hand, i would definitely trade for again. it comes in at a much better price point than pliny and (imo) it's a far better beer which dwarfs pretty much any chicago ipa i've had.

Saw your posts, OP. See Point 1 above.

I'm not saying that your offer isn't fair, but clearly VT wants more than what you're offering.

Just my opinion but your most recent FT: Pliny x2 ISO: Heady x4 offer seem a tad off (by a bottle maybe). It's probably more the quantity you're offering than Pliny itself. Isn't a 4-pack of Heady something like $13-14 at the brewery? I get my Pliny at $5.49 in LA, so even the $4$ doesn't match up. Since it's more difficult to acquire Heady, people are going to put slightly more value on it too, than face value when trading.

Double Sunshine is harder to get than Heady Topper. Also it may be more $$ than Heady. I personally like them both but prefer Heady Topper.

Pliny is an awesome beer no doubt, but at it's peak it was pretty hyped up and now that hype has died down a bit! SORRY BRO!

I think most people realized they can just buy Pliny online at this point if they really wanted it.

2 Pliny for a 4 pk of HT I wouldn't do either, not so much on the $4$ but the volume is kinda low to warrant shipping to the West Coast. Shipping is going to to be $30 approx plus the $13 for the HT, why pay $20 a piece for Pliny when you have HT in your hand, or can drive to Warren for Lawson's of can drive to HF and Ephraim or Susan is in tap? Just not worth the exercise.

Are we getting too much Overlord, too quickly? I mean, we had become used to a world without you and now , bam!, you're back in full force. And full of lists, no less. So many lists.

I don't really like to trade to Ca to be honest, ones it's much more expensive , two it always sits over a weekend on a truck or in a warehouse and it's 97 here today. Also there's lots of great regional/local brews that are tremendous so trading for IPAs isn't a necessity. No reflection at all of the quality of your FT.

It's b/c you guys value pliny way too high...I used to be able to trade Jai-Alai for Pliny $4$...and pliny sucks compared to some of the other great IPA's throughout the country...its simply run its course...
