Oh, I was always under the impression that they blended the 3 beers then barrel aged the blend. I assumed with all the hype about it being a PVW barrel that it would be the only way that it could have been done.

The rumors last year stemmed from uncertainty due to DR's infection problems. I think the relationship between DR and FH deteriorated during the ORF issues last year.

I completely support the Mother of Olde Wicked Feet. Silent Night needs more love. Expensive compared to these other Imperial Stouts, sure... But still a damn good beer. Also agreed on DR on all accounts. So much potential, but just so hit or miss.

Agree with all comments said above... I halfway hate DR due to their shitty local distribution (live 15 mins away and can only get milk stout, amber, brown, porter, and maybe some expired hoppy bunny if i'm lucky....... WTF)

May not be able to make it to this release, but as a pre-release I am offering an ISO:FT with OHB Event Horizon (and Lindley park if you can wait til it's release)... so grab an extra bottle!

Definitely sounds better than Olde Mother's Wicked Foot. But then again, it could be a sour or funklicious wild ale. So either one would work.

I'm pretty sure the "relationship" between the 2 breweries is just fine. Paul and Jamie have been friends since I went to work for Paul almost 6 years ago. Just kinda irks me that a thread that has nothing to do with duck rabbit has turned into a duck rabbit bashing thread full of hate and speculation... Just my 2 cents

What is not speculation, but rather is objective criticism, is that DR has not kept up with the advancements in the world of beer. I can personally vouch for the great quality of DR BA Baltic Porter, but DR has yet [to my knowledge] to release a bottled BA beer. In this regard, Foothills and Olde Hickory are leaving DR behind. I believe that DR has potential, but it appears that the community is of the opinion that DR has been idling for some time now.

Consider the following list of new/special releases available in growlers or bottles in the past 5-6 years:

    Olde Hickory:
    Daniel Boone
    Seven Devils
    The Event Horizon
    Lindley Park
A Tale of Two Barrels: Imperial Dominance
A Tale of Two Barrels: Saison Revolution
    Blendiculous 1
    [rumored] 20th Anniversary BA barleywine

    Foothills:
    Jade
    Pappa Jade
    BASC
    BA Seeing Double
BA Total Eclipse (or whatever they call it now)
    [rumored] Blendiculous 2

    Duck Rabbit:
    Rabid Duck
    Hoppy Bunny

I think the list of beers for each brewery on BA (see links above) says something as well. I am not hating on DR, I just want more out of them. Feel free to criticize my opinion.
