How often do you think about beer?

    How often do beer related thoughts cross your mind througout the day? Do you often find yourself thinking, "I can't wait until I get out of work and can sit down and enjoy a nice, tasty beer" or "I wonder if my sister in law who is moving to Vermont will be near The Alchemist"?

    It's odd, but I notice that a lot of common everyday things remind me of beer. A lot of these BeerAdvocate acronyms are popping in real life every time I turn around. When I was reading about the end of the BCS era in college football, I immediately thought of Bourbon County Stout. FT % in basketball = For trade. And when I'm invited to an out of state event the first thing I do is research the beers that are available in that area. Hell, I even make excuses to take small road trips to destinations conveniently located near areas that sell beer not available where I live.

    Do I need help or is this kind of mindset normal for the normal Beer Advocate user?

    [By the way, BCS is the acronym for Brooklyn's Black Chocolate Stout, not Bourbon County]

    To answer your question... a LOT. Industry news, home brewing, home drinking, etc. Its just...a LOT.

    Also...I had to stop getting tweets forwarded regarding beer because I found keeping up with all of the news to try and stay current was daunting and affecting my work. If I could just combine the two.....

    Another one of my favorites is knowing someone you know is going on vacation, and the first thing you think of is how to ask the person this:

    "So (insert friend, family member name here), you are visiting / going on vacation (insert location that has beer you can't get), huh? Listen, would you mind stopping and picking me up (insert beer name)? It's like 5 minutes from where you'll be staying."
