I have 1 bomber of Stone Vertical 08 08 08 that I found on the shelf of a store a few months ago. I was wondering if there is any trade value for this right now. I know that Stone is done with the vertical and that the ship may have sailed, but I wasn't sure if anyone was still looking for a bottle of this. I didn't buy this for me to consume, but rather for someone who is looking to complete their collection and has not been able to track this down.

So, all in all, if anyone has any helpful info regarding this particular beer it would be very, well, helpful.

That ship has sailed. You might have to drink it. Good luck op.

minor hijack, but I'm assuming this is true and then some for 07-07-07? I saw a case of it in a cooler the other day beside some 12-12-12 for a price that intrigued me, but passed on it. I'm guessing it's now as undesirable as most other 6-year-old wheat beers?

I doubt anything in the VE series other than 02 & 03 would pull much of a trade. And even those two, while rarer, would be more of a collection or ticker trade instead of a serious want trade. 06+ is still pretty available on occasion, and a lot of these beers didn't hold up well imo.

While that is correct, this specific forum is also a help forum and there really isn't anything specific I was looking for. I just wanted to see if there was any demand for it.

Seeing how everyone else gave me (semi) constructive answers; I no longer need to utilize the ISO:FT forum. I'll keep this in mind for the future though. I thank you for your insight.

I still have 06 to 12 up for grabs.

General rule of thumb -- a lot of overlooked shelf beer is overlooked because supply far outstripped demand. There are exceptions to this rule, but rarely.

What did you pay for it? Probably that or less.

Even 03 showed up on some shelves back in December. I got it and 04 in a $4$ trade for reasonable current limited releases.

When we did the vertical, the beers ranged from meh to barely drinkable, for what it's worth. Age was less of a factor than you'd imagine. (12.12.12 was the worst of the bunch, in my opinion)

Did a semi-vertical including '08. It was awful. However, '12 was the worst. Absolutely horrid.
Do yourself and anyone else the favor, and kill that bottle with fire and explosives. You'll enjoy doing that much more than drinking it. Promise.

The main problem was that all these beers seemed to be pulled out of their ass in terms of what they were doing. Like they did the first one and then realized they actually had to brew all these beers now. None of them held up to the ravages of time and by the end they were all gimmicky as fuck and really had taste as an afterthought.

Just destroy the bottles or take them to a bottle share that you really don't want to put in the effort for. They're the Superman Returns of "limited edition" beers that people would never want to get.

It took a couple of bottle shares to get rid of mine, but eventually, someone was f-ed enough to chug about 1/2 it. Well worth the $5 it cost.
