Just returned from the same trip, with a drive to Mt. Rushmore in between the Dells and the breweries. As stated above, the value is great. You also get a voucher for a beer at one of the New Glarus restaurants. The grounds and beer garden in back are expansive and offer a great view. Lots of shirts, hats, etc to buy. Saw Deb and spoke to her briefly. She's very approachable. Talked to her about this past weekend release. Said the style is not really her thing because of how über-tart it is. Based on what she said, I think it jives with what a lot of brewers feel. They make these beers in small quantities, they want people to enjoy them, but they don't care who or how. I think they want locals who regularly support them to have the best chance at enjoying them.

TG is totally different. Tap room is smaller with a patio. Tap room was once a McDonalds pre-cursor. It was $6 for 4 samples, still very affordable. Growler was $19. Beers are very tasty. Got one of their chalice glasses, which is very nice.

It's about 3 hours drive between the two on larger two-lane highway. Wasn't really a bad drive. Totally worth the trip.

Can't say. I didn't go into the room where they sell the bottles. I'd check the recent thread about the Blackberry Sour release. I think someone might've said something about Wild Sour availability. They didn't have it in the tasting area.

Are you picking a fight or just being stupid? I don't really care either way--just curious.

The source is research, not Salon. Salon simply reports it.

They are reporting a ridiculous unsubstantiated study and drawing a moronic conclusion from it. Just making that point. If you saw this and were posting it for laughs, then I apologize. It's funny

The initial comment was for laughs. The link was in response to a request, so, no. As for "unsubstantiated study", that's an oxymoron. You just think it's "unsubstantiated" because it does not mesh with your worldview. Sorry, reality does not have to fit your worldview. Now, can we leave politics out of it and move back to beer?

Please stop feeding this OP troll and this idiotic thread. It adds nothing to the conversation about beer and just causes rages on both sides. This is such a waste of server space

I started the thread to discuss New Glarus and share my awesome experience there. Not sure how it got here. Lets talk NG.

You're really not sure? Maybe it's because you ended your post by conjuring an image of some bitter old white guy trying with all his might to repress his intense self loathing for enjoying New Glarus, sitting there sipping delicious beer, all the while holding back vomit with every fiber of his being so as not to ruin his favorite trade show freebie polo shirt.

I find this offensive and wish you luck on your next beer message board once you are finally banned from this one.
