Supposed to have """" beers on cask, barrel aged beers OR specialty/limited beers that are not available at the liquor store.... """"".. ...

    Who has got a ticket??

First year. $45; or $55 for the VIP.

List of breweries is good as long as they do indeed bring some good ish.

I posted some comments in a private email group to the organizers of the event. My general complaints were that they had a huge list of breweries that they invited but none were confirmed as coming at all. Also it's a first time event with a high price and lots of promises but no list of beers that might make it worth while. For some reason the website has a broken background image on my phone and is entirely unreadable. All together it makes it hard to pull the trigger on this event, and it's a shame because I live here and would really like to be excited for it. I got some more info hough and a response, for added details:

Hey, I just wanted to send everyone on the listserv a heads up that if you wanted to get tickets to the Logan Square Beer Fest, now is the time. We fully expect this event to sell out in the next few weeks.

This is a rare/specialty beer fest, where each brewery has agreed to bring a rare beer (cask conditioned, barrel aged, collaboration, etc) to the fest.

Here are some examples of rare beers that will be at the fest:
-Boulder, Barrel-Aged Boulder Saison w/Orange Peels and Alfalfa Honey (only 6 kegs made in the entire country, only one in the Midwest).
    -Half Acre, Beer Hates Astronauts.
-Lagunitas, Farmhouse Saison (this beer NEVER makes it out of CA).
-Solemn Oath, Butterfly Flashmob CASK Pin - Copious amounts of piney, citrusy American hops make a light malt sweetness their bitch in this full-flavored Belgian IPA.

We will also have live entertainment, and a few surprises that will make this the most unique beer fest that you have ever been to.

To get tickets go to the fest website at www.LoganSquareBeerFest.com

Thanks for the feedback. I agree we need to update the website with more details about the fest, and we will, but the site comes up fine on our iPhone and Android phones.

All of the breweries that we have listed on the site have confirmed that they will be there pouring beer. That list is final with the exception that we may be adding one or two more.

I'm not sure what other details you are looking for but I'll attempt to give you all the details here.

This is a smaller venue, and we are limiting ticket sales to 600 people.

Each brewery will be bringing 2 to 4 beers, with at least one of them being a rare beer (cask conditioned, barrel aged, collaboration, etc.). We have just started getting some of the beer lists in, and have been posting them as teasers on twitter and facebook, so follow us there to get those details. Each brewery will have a rep or two there pouring so they can talk shop with the patrons.

We will be having two music acts, which will be acoustical and will not overpower the beer fest. Also we will be having a free raffle for everyone at the fest. Breweries will be donating items for this raffle such as brewery jerseys, t-shirts, mugs, beer, growlers with certificates for free fills, etc, so that will be a lot of fun.

As for the breweries that you mentioned, we approached every one of them and for various reasons they were not able to participate in this year's fest. Hopefully we will get some of them in subsequent fests. I think we have a great brewery lineup and are very proud of the breweries that are coming!

Your ticket buys you admission to the fest, and sample tastings to all of the beers. We need to do a ticketing system (40 to 50 sample tickets) to adhere to the laws, but I assure you that no one will not get to sample the beers they want at the fest.

If you have any other questions, please contact me off the list-serve and I will do my best to answer them all.

    Cheers,
    Dave Watts

    I'll be there.
Sounds like a good time to me but it will only be a good fest if this guy is there.[IMG]

Thanks for the response 'dountcounttoday'...Very helpful indeed.

However, what does that ^^ mean?? Did you ask them about a few breweries that are not on the list or something? Or ???

Looks like it should be good.

I've seen him do this in the beer garden at the yearly church carnival in Munster. Soooo funny!

i'm usually in the area (gf lives there) and i'd love to support it. even at half the price i'd be hesitant to purchase. such vague information. whoever does go, would love to get a review/feedback and then next year, i'm all in.

I didn't ask about any specific breweries. I mentioned how there were a lot of breweries originally listed as having been invited when tickets first went on sale, and had heard no followup on. Some are not coming obviously

LSBF just announced this via Facebook... Seems kinda cool.

"We are very excited to announce that Tony McGee, the founder of Lagunitas, will be jamming at the Logan Square Beer Fest! #LSBF#craftbeer"

Did a quick youtube and found this.
Looks like we can look forward to some blues.

    From LSBF's facebook:
"VIP entries will get 50 drink tix, General admission will get 40. We want to make sure everyone can try all the beers they want, while supplies last of course. The limit is to stay legal."

    and they also posted this:
"We are very excited to announce that we added another Logan Square brewery to the Fest today. Welcome Off Color brewing!"

I had still been considering going to this event, but then I got free 312 Block Party tickets. Hard to beat the price of free when I still have no specific beer info for Logan.

It's also going to be at least $5 per beer at the goose thing so there's that to consider.

Yeah it's something I'm aware of, I also know the tap list and am fine with paying for it. If it's anything like last year they won't take tokens half the time anyway.

This I didn't know. I checked their site but not twitter or fb. Thank you

Gotta say. Went to LSBF and it was pretty awesome. Some things that made it a touch different. Music. Not only did the owner of Lagunitas play a solid hour set but he was really good and after that there was a Rock A Billy Band that was outstanding. The mixer kept the volume at a reasonable level so it did not over power the tasting.
Some good beers. The Rev Brew Det's Star was outstanding. Dare I say a BCS killer ?
Only thing to consider for those guys next year is Brewery Banner placement (above the taps on the wall-not on the stands were no can see them) and a Beer Brewery reference guide so we know is there and were and what they are serving. We wondered around "discovering" who was there and where they were. Overall. Great location/venue. Good selection. Not to crowded and great pacing. It's also walking distance from Revolution Brewery. Not to shabby for a Craft Beer day.
