I thought it was '10 Abyss...that stuff was collecting dust.

The hype is what drives the culture around these parts...that is, this forum. The search. Who has it, and how fast can I get it. Bro, I got enough to cover you = clout. My haul is huge = I pump 10 plates. Internet muscles, all that.

I'll just keep scooping up all the fresh Lost Gold. Now that beer sucks...it's always on shelves. And there is soooo much of it!

definitely. i remember strolling to D&Q, looking @ Brandon like :astonished:...while pointing at the cases of '11 Abyss just sitting on his floor.

Hay Merchant definitely brought light to the beer culture/scene that existed lonnnnnnng before majority here knew about it.

I say its pretty freaking awesome....bittersweet in some ways, but im no complainer.

Specs on 1604 in SA helped me get a healthy amount of Whiskey Rodeo, although I think the SA scene is starting to catch on these days.

In all fairness today was the first day we got it. I'm sure there will be more appearances in Houston over the next few days.

True. If I remember correctly, people initially went ape shit trying to get the last SA BB series and it seemed to keep popping up over the following weeks. I don't think too many people ended up getting shut out in the long run.

I'm sure I'll be able to find it at some point in Houston, I was just surprised at how different the culture is here compared to when I lived and boston and could walk in a few days later and get much of it, (with obvious exceptions KBS, BCBS etc)

Though I'm at work and don't have the time to search for it, but I believe Houston I like top 10 for single Americans, economy, cheap housing, and entertainment. So my theory is there are much younger drinkers, which tend to be the craft beer generation, and they have more expendable cash. So its not so much "hoarders" its the population, age, and finances that play a roll.

Thats a very real possibility and it just happens those factors you mentioned are the profile of a hoarder. J/K. I take that partially back, expendable income is definitely something a hoarder needs. I already acknowledged hoarding goes on everywhere, I'VE HOARDED, and I know its not the main problem but it doesn't help.

Obviously Karbach and St A's have a bunch of homers there as well which we don't have in DFW. St A's limited series aren't exactly easy to find up here but its nothing like Houston, nothing.

Does this have anything to do with our new Reliant Stadium Video screen being the largest in all of sports?

Thank God! When I heard about that I was ecstatic, seriously. You know that's eating at Jerry and his ego. I love it.

Culture is a complex thing, as is history. We have the oldest "craft" brewery in Texas and the second-fastest-growing brewery in the country. There's no doubt those two things contribute to Houston's appetite for beer.

I'm going to find a new hobby, I think I'll get back into cars. My butt always hurts after releases here in Houston cause I don't get any cause of you hidden hoarders. screw all of you, I hope you catch flat tires on your way back from hunting 006.

I'll keep going to Brandon to buy my 6th glass since it's always on the shelf.

hmph. MY JIMMIES ARE RUSTLED, SO WHAT.
