I will be heading to Lost Abbey Saturday 8/31 (12:00 -3:00 session) and as of now it looks like I will be making the the round trip in a single day.

I am looking to car pool, ride share to and from the San Diego airport with other BAs that are arriving and deparing in the same day.

    Cheers.

Might want to change the title of your post to get more views, otherwise people are probably going to assume it's just another DDG release opinion/shitting thread.

    Just my $0.02

No, you don't have to have purchased bottles to attend. Business as usual that day (but it's going to be packed).

Just received this email on the release...

"If you are receiving this email then we have confirmed your order for Duck Duck Gooze and have charged your credit card. (if you’re still unsure of how many bottles you bought or didn’t receive an email confirmation, please visit shop.lostabbey.com and you can check your order history).

By purchasing Duck Duck Gooze from The Lost Abbey, you are agreeing to pick up your purchased bottles during the session that you chose during checkout. If you fail to pick-up your bottles during your chosen session, they will be surrendered back to The Lost Abbey. We are not allowing proxies of any kind for the pickup (We apologize for the inconvenience, but this policy hasn't changed and was implemented to prevent individual consumers from ending up with more than 6 bottles). The “No Proxy” rule has been stated from the initial announcement of Duck Duck Gooze, any attempt to have a proxy pick up bottles will result in the bottles being surrendered back to The Lost Abbey (NO EXCEPTIONS).

Process to Pick up bottles of Duck Duck Gooze:
    1. Proceed to the “Check In” booth near the warehouse (across from the Lost Abbey Tasting Room) – We’ll have signs posted and brewery representatives to help guide you.
    2. Present your ID and confirmation email/printout (your mobile device with email is fine, but please have it ready to present) to receive a “Pickup Confirmation Form”
    3. Once you have your “pickup confirmation form”, you have until the end of your designated session to pick up your allotment of Duck Duck Gooze
    4. To pick up your allotment of DDG, head to the large white tent near the east end of the parking lot with your pickup invoice.
Depending on the time you choose to attend during your designated session, there may be a line for the Check in and/or distribution of the Duck Duck Gooze bottles.
Please have all of your required materials out and ready to present to minimize the obstacles to getting the beer in to your hands as quickly as possible - Plenty of people will be ready and prepared, please don’t be one of those people who isn’t

    The Lost Abbey Tasting Room:
The Lost Abbey Tasting room will be open during all designated sessions, but not a minute earlier. In addition to the classics, like Red Barn and Mongo, we’ll have some barrel-aged goodies and few sours on tap (while supplies last). There will also be a food truck on site for all 4 of the sessions.

    Parking:
Parking will be available in The Lost Abbey parking lot as well as across the street in our auxiliary parking lot (we’ll have signs and parking attendants to guide you). There are designated handicapped spots available, if there are any additional issues with accessibility, please inform a Lost Abbey representative and we can help satisfy the situation.

    Session Attendance:
We are anticipating over 350 consumers will be onsite for each individual session. Obviously we will work as expediently as possible to get everyone their beer. In addition, representatives from Nexternal will be onsite to offer assistance and show their support for our release on Saturday as well. Should anyone wish to discuss things further with them they will be available for questions and comments.

If there are further issues regarding The Duck Duck Gooze release, please email [email protected] (Please Note: At this time we are unable to change the session you’ve previously chosen)"

Very interesting that Nexternal reps will be present. I wonder if anyone will have some words of kindness for them on their exellent handling on the release.

With Nexternal reps present this release will be entertaining. Lost Abbey clearly has thought this move out

I very sincerely hope that it's just a punching bag with "Nexternal" spray-painted onto it. Or one of these:

Anyway, I'm definitely curious about how this will work out. I like that they separated the confirmation and bottle-retrieval processes, gives some hope for a quick line.

Can anyone confirm that "a few sours while supplies last" will include DDG? Does anyone think they'll have a keg or two for each session?

I hope its DDG, but I'm gonna assume it'll be FdA and CdT. We can only hope its crazier sours though.

I'm expecting FdA, CdT, BA Santas Little Helper, Deliverance, Angels Share, Red Poppy and then of course the GOAT Red Barn.

I'm hoping for DDG and a long shot but Cable Car. I expect neither will be there though.
