Missing/Bad Trader: Popinbottles

    Shipped out 2 X Huna, CCB GOH plus a large box of other goodies for 2 X Dark Lords + locals. He received my box 6/5. After that I received several messages over the next two weeks about some unspecified family issues/sickness. Multiple times he stated he would send out his two boxes. He finally shipped first box 7/11 after I stated he would be reported. He apologized at the time. The box received was of several Cali shelf beers. Since then I have sent several messages requesting he send the 2 X dark lords or return the Huna (I don't even mind if he keeps the rest but since that was 2/3rd of my Huna allotment this year I am shit out of luck). He has logged on several times since I sent him that message on 7/31 with his most recent being 8/4 but has not read his messages. I am assuming I am out of luck at this point but any help or anyone who knows this gentlemen it would be appreciated.

    Well Shit. Looks like I am screwed. Looks like he has gone by the handles: pilot1331, Schmoopsbeer, popinbottles at least. I did check his references before trading and they seemed solid.

    No system is perfect I guess. I always check three references who all have greater than 5 references (with non in common among the three), do a quick search in the trade forum and check the bad trader list. Guess it is partially my fault for missing the hits on him in the trade forum. Oh well, beer karma is still on my side with so many great trades/traders I have had the pleasure of meeting on here.
    Actually, I am really just hoping that this will kick start this gentlemen into returning my beers (I have offered to pay for shipping) or following through with the trade. Sounds like has come through in the past after a long delay. Oh well, it's just beer.

    Good luck, I guess being schmoopsed is better than being frddymcked, or jojoed, at least you have a shot. Wasn't trying to be judgmental. Wish it was me got those Hunas I love that beer.

    I met this guy a few times over the past couple of years. He was a douche in person, so it makes sense he translated over to internet douchery too.

    Is there not a way to identify the IP address, and multiples cannot happen? I'm not a computer guy , but this guy is a predator, the worst kind IMO.

    That was my initial reaction to seeing the name in the post. This guy is outright trying to f- people. This is'nt life getting in the way or someone blowing off a trade because they got bored...it is a guy going out of his way to straight out ass ****

    You *can*, but with the proliferation of smartphones, it's not very easy anymore. Wireless IP's are dynamic, which means they change, so blocking one doesn't do much good. A scammer can run his scams from an iPhone pretty easily, and you obviously can't go blocking everybody who signs up with a Verizon Wireless IP address.

    Don't you have his address? Maybe this is just the "New Jersey" in me talking, but if someone screws you and you know where they live, it's kinda easy to get something out of them.

    Ha, love it. My sister-in-law from Buffalo said the same thing. Unfortunately hopping a flight out to Cali is out of the budget in grad school and my Southern demeanor tends to make me more prone to focusing on enjoyable pursuits. I did find myself google mapping images if his house/neighborhood and looking up the name on the deed for his house after a couple Jai Alai last night though. Then I just felt bad for him though.
    Oh we'll, still hoping this is all just a big misunderstanding #EternalOptimism

    maybe he would be getting a lot of pizza delivered to his house as well as craigslist posts saying he is giving away free furniture, just ring the bell , any time works.
