Good morning paupers of pale ale and princes of pilsners!

I hope this message finds you ready for another fine Sunday with some spankin' new brew on the horizon.

Weather in Central OH is mild but I can tell it will be warming up today. Had the annual neighborhood block party last night and I may need to give my system the day off today. Still looking around to find some of the hoppy SN Beer Camp goodness and if so, that may change the tone.

Regardless of my situation, that shouldn't impede any of you from cracking open a new beer and sharing your stories here. Please DRINK a new beer and give us a good description so we can all share in your exploits. Linked reviews are great and pics always help round out the story. Looking forward to seeing what this day has to offer.

Thanks for keeping NBS fresh, informative, and fun. Good day and good drinkin'!

    Peace, love, and malty-ness,

    Matt

Hiya Matt! Thanks for ringing in New Beer Sunday with panache and flair. You are the perfect emcee. I hope you are all well and enjoying the return of the summer like weather. Cheers.

Today I have the distinct pleasure of trying Serpent's Stout by The Lost Abbey. it's perfect for a Sunday theme with it's art work depicting the fall of man. Here's my review.

    New Witbier Sunday

    Greetings NBSer's

Short check in this morning with multiple activities today including the finishing steps of the SCFF Homemade Beer contest. 104 entries and 33 brewers. It takes work to organize all that and put out a decent product and I'm sad and glad it's come to an end for another year. Beautiful week this week locally and finishing off with an equally nice day and a small increase in temp and humidity that will grow all week.

Going local with a small brewery from southwestern MN that recently moved from a tiny town to a small town due to water processing issues (ahh the details of being a brewer). A solid drinking ale that goes well with sunny warm weather.

    Happy New CANorado Beer Sunday!
Ahoy CANpers, Rise and shine because it's time to Crack open some beers that Bro. Woody fetched from his visit to The Old Lady in what will henceforth be referred to as "CANorado".
What a time it was, lemme tell you! She is a year younger than my aged carcass and yet she has the body of a girl half her age. We first encountered one another at a homebrew club meeting in Boulder in 2008 and then hung out together during the 2009 GABF. We had not seen each other since and when she did not come east to PHL for the AHA Conference in June, Bro. Woody had to go to the mountains, since they were not coming to him. It turned out that my feelings for her were more passionate than hers for me, but she was an excellent hostess and we left on no uncertain terms. Ah, ma coeur :slight_frown: At least I got to see her in her micro-mini tartan kilt again ...
In the meantime, I have become (in)famous. First, there was an article in the local paper last Friday http://lancasteronline.com/article/local/880935_-Woody--running-for-Lancaster-mayor-.html , followed by an editorial in this past Friday's paper http://lancasteronline.com/article/local/883789_Chandler-for-Lancaster-mayor--Really-.html . People are now calling for my head, my colleagues are burning me in effigy, ad nauseum. If you thought that all of my posts were make-believe flummery, you need only encounter me IRL.
I am beginning the event today with some Dry Dock beers, courtesy of Blargimus, who I had traded with before, but never in person. The Old Lady and I trekked down to the Copper Kettle, where he was acting trivia master that evening. We played our first game together that night, followed by a marathon of Bar Trivia over the next ten days. We were not as good a team as my frequent trivia partner, but the night that we finished second and got both an Old Chicago gift certificate and a "We're the Andersons (?)" water bottle for each of us, her grin was stunning. She has the Joker's smile, in which her upper lip rises above her teeth while her lower lip forms a "V" and she told me that no one has ever characterized her that way before. I think that she is now CANtemplating being Harley Quinn this Halloww'en.
Too long winded? Sorry. Unrequited love has that effect on us writers.
I came into Dry Dock initially with a Siren's song:
but she left me high and dry so I spoke the Admiral and he advised me to come alongside:
and being that it is still summertime, he and I went out for a hefeweizen:
He just left, so I am on my own again. I'll check back later today with more news from the CANorado arm of The CANQuest (TM) here in beautiful downtown Lancaster, PA. And now, a word from our sponsor ...

    BELGIAN STRONG DARK ALE SUNDAY

Dreary, drizzly, and damp here in Amish country so our date today is going from bike ride to movie and Indian food. Looking forward to time alone together regardless. Had this with lunch today-

So nice to have the CANquistador back on NBS with the rest of the usual suspects. I'm guessing the folks in your CANton have not yet realized your aspirations to Mayorhood are merely so you CAN change the name of your city to CANlaster. Good luck, if you win I may just have to move. Not to CANlaster, no, much, much farther away:wink:

Good Sunday morning (except for you East Coasters) my fellow NBS geeks! I'm starting a bit later, because I had some things to take care of this morning. I also took my girls to play at the park since it is such a beautiful day in S. WI. We really could use some rain, only .3" for August so far and the grass is turning brown.

I decided to give this fruit beer a try, even though I can get all of the best fruit beers brewed from New Glarus. This is a different take since it is a blend of 4 berries and uses rye. It lacks the fresh fruit and tartness that enjoy from New Glarus fruit beers (Dan uses a brown sour base for those), but it is still good. Hope all of you get to try some new beer and make the most of this magnificent Sunday. Cheers!

New American Pale Wheat Ale Sunday!

Greetings and a big how-do from an overcast and warm Jersey Shore. It's a "when's it going to rain?" kind of day.

It's been a long week, as the girls' softball summer league that I help run just finished the season yesterday. The rainy summer forced a lot of make-up games and extended the season 10 extra days.
It ended on a nice high note for this proud dad. My kid was offered a spot on the local community college's squad as a pitcher after the team's head coach witnessed one of her recent games. She's already enrolled in a university so that's out, still nice to know that she's a player. Education over athletics, you go girl!

Speaking of going...the Hefe wannabe went with lunch:http://beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/8/17/?ba=NiceTaps

Not bad, but clearly not a Hefe. Despite that, my rating is in the green. And no pics for this one, not worth the effort.

    All the best everyone, Cheers!

Greetings fellow NBSers! A cloudy morning here in the Fourth Corner, but that's somewhat typical, and it usually clears off around noon. Seems to be pretty slow around town, I think a lot of folks hit the road as summer starts to wind down.

I'd like to start with a shout-out. One of our better local/regional breweries, Silver City from Silverdale WA, recently had a contest for a Silver City drinking song. I'm happy to say that my good friend Steve won! He gets some studio time, a free video shoot, and maybe some beer. Give it a listen here:http://www.silvercitybrewery.com/brewery_website/drinking_song3.htm

I was surprised to see a beer from Central Waters on tap at my local this morning. This beer isn't listed on CW's website, there is a very similar beer listed on another breweries BA page, but that one is listed as being brewed by a 3rd brewery. I'm very confused. If anyone can get this correct, please combine my entry: http://beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/652/98193 . There's a couple other new things on tap, NASCAR is on it's 3rd yellow flag in the first 14 laps, so I may be here a while. I'll be going to my buddy Justin's (BA OKComputer) later to make a dent in his cellar, so we'll see how things go.

New Belgian Pale Sunday (week 443)

Greetings NBS ers from a cloudy but beautiful day on the ridge in Mid Hud Val NY. Picked most of my hops for my Chin Hook Wet Hop IPA, still some stragglers (see below). Found out that the area I am in once was the largest producer of hops in this country. Interesting news about the future of hops around here, we may again produce the best hops in this country, and the quality of beer to match.

Today's Belgian selection is truly a delectable beer, sheer poetry as my review reflects. Pardon the Greywulfken rip off, just felt like it, so great to be back enjoying the world's best beverage. I hope you have a Great American Beer in your glass, even though I don't. Cheers!

Steal away! As time goes by, I get more and more disappointed in NB's beers. Maybe it's my palate changing over the years. BTW, I was very surprised to see you hadn't had the Orval, what the hell took so long?

Aren't those pretty looking hop flowers! And zucchini ad green beans! paradise and they put up parking lots. Who knows why? Those hops are a fantastic light green. I'll bet they are delicious.
