It's late, I have to get up early, so I'll be brief:

    Great Divide Oatmeal Yeti

A wonderful imperial stout, just like his brothers.

    So... several thoughts.
First: Instead of the Storm King I mentioned before, I opted to go for Great Divide's 18th Anniversary Wood Aged Double IPA. The story remains the same. When I left Austin in november, there was a box of stuff (mostly clothes, a couple of beers) that I could not fit into my luggage. My roommate assured me that she would ship the box ASAP (actually her mom was the one who was adamant that they would ship it, and I didn't need to worry about it before leaving, but that's neither here nor there). Well... That never happened. Instead the box was placed in the outdoor storage (hot water heater) room of the apartment. In Austin. It sat there from last november until a couple of days ago when I accompanied my little brother on a roadtrip back west. I was concerned that the four beers (the GD18, a Storm King, a Sisyphus and a Black Butte XXIV) were ruined.

I chalked them up to lost until about twenty minutes ago when I cracked this Wood Aged DIPA and tasted a delicious aniversary beer. I never tasted it fresh, so I don't know if it really is super different, or whether that would be from the age or the heat, but I am enjoying the hell out of what I'm drinking right now, so I'm not too worried.
Lesser thought: People really don't seem to understand the concept of this thread. It's not a WBAYDN. This is a little more in depth, this is a little more personal, this requires a little bit more effort. Much love to everyone out there, but I'm seeing more and more posts that are just 'I am drinking this.' Cheers to what you're drinking, but... that's not what this is. Ultimately I don't know why it even bugs me, so I guess forget this past paragraph. I don't know.
Dah' well, it's midnight. I'm becoming a pumpkin. And I guess I'm not sticking to the rules anymore either by letting that last couple seconds tick off before posting.

Slainte, and by the time you read this, probably, happy monday to all!!

Some traditions are worth keeping because that is how we keep continuity, and because they have a useful purpose. New Beer Sunday is both of those things, and needs to be kept that way. Thanks for pointing it out.
