Sorry but I've been searching for a bit and haven't found anything on this. I got into an argument last night with a friend who just came back from Canada and hes trying to tell me that the Miller Lite in Canada is so much better than the Miller Lite here. I know I've seen something on it but is there really that much of a difference? After years of craft beer drinking I took a sip of Miller Lite the other day and it tasted like fizzy water. His exact words to me were if I were to drink one I'd stop drinking all the crap I drink...I doubt it.
Your friend is a real comedian telling you a Canadian Miller lite will make you stop drinking craft beer. Tell him to get you a bottle of can of the Canadian Miller Lite and do a side-by-side comparison of both the container and the beer.
I hope you refrained from laughing in his face. Or not. Uh, a friend told you that you were drinking "crap?"
Well everyone knows there's more alcohol in Canadian beers, so that's probably why it's better. You should both try German Miller Lite, it'll blow your mind. You can really taste the Renheitsgebot.
My canadian friend always tells me that canadian beer is so much stronger; I was drinking BCBS (15%) while talking to him, and he even said that canadian Molson was stronger. Umm...what?
Sounds like he's not a microbrew drinker if he refers to the beers you drink as crap. He might truly believe the Miller Lite is better there, it's not saying much.
Saying that a beverage tastes better than Miller Lite is like saying that a food tastes better than cat feces. In other words, that's not very high praise.
There is potential there. He is looking for better beer, maybe he will evolve into a better beer person. I used to think Miller lite was the best. After a few years of craft and imports I can never go back.
Trade for a "Canadian" Miller Lite and make him do a blind test test against an "American" Miller Lite. Throw a couple other AALs in the tasting so his chances of guessing correctly are less than 50/50.
