Good Pumpkin Beers

    It is getting to be that time of year again guys. What are your favorite pumpkin beers from our state? I really like Buffalo Jill's. I'm trying to enlarge my horizons but I want to keep drinking local so I need some Ca suggestions.

    Last year's batch of Witch's Hair from Manzanita was fantastic, one of the best pumpkin beers I've had.

    Pumpkin is my favorite seasonal beer, but I agree that it's more hit than miss out of all seasonals. I found this beer today: Blue Mountain Brewery Spooky Pumpkin Ale. It has Pumpkin, Bourbon, and Chocolate brewed into it. I picked it up today since it was the last bottle, but I was seeing if anyone else has had it before.

    I've never seen any Blue Mountain brews in Cali. As far as pumpkin ales go, our selection is pretty week, though with the addition of Almanac's pumpkin barleywine, I'm hoping that signals more breweries to up their pumpkin ale game.

    I'd say taking the advice on the Almanac Heirloom Pumpkin is better than whatever this "Buffalo Jill's" you speak of is.

    Oh, if you're talking about Buffalo Bill's which I think you can get at Trader Joe's, then absolutely try the Almanac. It's leaps and bounds better.

    Other than that, there isn't a very large pumpkin contingent on CA beers, from what I can recall.
