Anyone have any experience or still volunteer in the DFW area? I was just wondering what it was like and if there are any perks. I've heard there are after parties after the tours are over for the volunteers, they get cool unreleased swag like glasses and shirts, take home full growlers, and I've even seen a few that are able to sample a long with everyone else. I just got my TABC to serve, but didn't know if that was majority of what they're looking for or if they need clean up crews. If you've volunteered tell me your experience of what is was like and for who. Thanks!
    Cheers!

If you have any building skills, there is a brewery in Dallas who needs a taproom.

Get on twitter or shoot an email to Peticolas and he'd be happy to have you.

I've had a lot of offers to come out to different breweries to volunteer... I just wanted to know from anyone else's experience to see what it was like for them or if they preferred volunteering at a particular brewery

The people at Peticoloas are class acts. The folks I know that volunteer out there love it and yes there are perks. It's an easy schedule too with only the first and third Saturdays of each month and a two hour tour.

I have done countless times at DEBC and Peticolas. DEBC can be fun, more of the party crowd, but at this point few perks, usually offer a 6 pack of beer but often forgotten by the end of the day, but I don't do it for perks, its just fun to do. Peticolas is great, no perks usually either but Micheal is a great guy who I'll always try to help out. I have done tours and special events for DEBC, tours and full brewdays at Peticolas.

Thank you! They're all about a thirty minute drive so I was trying to determine which one would be the more fun without a crazy crowd. The time I went to Rahr and Sons, on 4/20 when they were giving out cheech and chong glasses, was crazy packed and I don't think I could do it...but I hear it's not usually like that. DEBC was my initial thought. I haven't had any of their beers yet, so it gives me an excuse to try them all before I go.

Once you try them, you might not want to go any more.... :astonished:

I just volunteer for fun. Have done delivery and poured beer doing tours. Sure you get free beer and occasional swag, but the interaction with the brewers and getting to know people who support them, basically being around like minded people who love craft beer - those are the true perks.
