So it's been a long time since my last trade and was getting ready to post an ISO and noticed that with BA changing to the new server and whatnot I no longer have the list of completed trades that I once had in my profile. Does anybody know if there's a way to retrieve this? I thought I remembered at one time that you could still get back to your old profile from the new server or something like that?
I use a dependable site like Google to store my info. Never had anything I've written disappear there.
Ive been in the same boat. I hated the idea of the site revamp, and some of the changes taking place, so pretty much avoided the site during the process. Though not really active in the trade scene anymore, i still like to participate in BIFs, and an occasional trade. I lost about 30 references and a few BIFs. I decided to just put a note in my profile, I will gladly ship first to VERY well established traders if needed, if / when I decide to trade...otherwise, I will just avoid.
Just find someone to vouch for you. You have a lot of karma, and an older join date.. shouldn't be too hard.
Well, I guess welcome back. Some things have changed drastically since your departure: Mikesgroove is no longer a good trader Joel66 is not Mikesgroove, he just has a lot of his old beer California no longer controls the whale trades, people with Goose Island products do There are now 5,000 more traders than there were the last time you traded Dark Lord isn't popular, Barrel Aged Dark Lord is the new thing Pliny the Elder and Westvleteren 12 are no longer considered the best beers in the world
I'm in the same boat... but I guess in addition, its partially my fault... I don't keep track of my completed trades anymore even though I still do them semi-regularly.
7. Trading is all about winning now. Don't expect to find simple and sensible deals on ISO/FT these days. 8. Extras are no longer considered common courtesy, particularly by newer join dates. 9. Bad traders have been on the upswing. Less than 10 trades and 6 months on the site and they ship first IMO.
Ahhh, when I dipped my toe back into trading, a few people looked askance at my lack of trading history and I was in the very first BIF on BA! (two twelve ounce bottles in a cardboard tube that had to be 1/2 inch thick. It made it all the way back around to Woody as I recall)
Once Hey dude. I'm a researcher and I have to look up stuff on outdated websites from time to time. Use this link: http://web.archive.org/web/20101028010559/http://beeradvocate.com/ The good news is you have a chance to see your old profile. The bad news is I tried to see your profile and I couldn't find it. That doesn't mean you can't find it though. http://web.archive.org/web/20060119002540/http://beeradvocate.com/user/profile/JackStrawWichita/ This is an example of someone else's profile from 2006. It's a crap-shoot but it might work. The way this works: This is an internet archive. It takes instances of webpages over time and allows you to look at many of the older pages. However MANY of the links are broken and faulty because the internet archive does not store every internet page ever (it's somewhat random). If anything, it is fun to see what BA used to look like and how it has changed over time. It might let you look at some of your old information like it lets you do for JackStrawWichita in the link above. Not having used the old site as a registered user, I really couldn't navigate well esp when it asked for user names and passwords. Anyways, I hope this can help you out and if not I suppose it's still fun to look at the old BA site.
I've also heard whispers of a few CA groups pooling money together and slowly buying shares of InBev. Things will get wild when all 10k bottles of BCBCS 2015 are distributed to SoCal BevMo locations.
