    I know there are a thousand " bachelor party beer" threads but this one has two caveats;

    1. As the title states this must be a "breakfast beer" ,

    2. These guys are not really craft drinkers.

So usually these bachelor parties have use waking up the next morning, slightly hung over, and we make a morning cocktail or grab a BMC to start a new day of fun. I'm looking for suggestions of a good craft substitute to the aforementioned. Youngs Double Chocolate Stout comes to mind, but I don't really drink that early in the day except for times like these. So any suggestions for a good breakfast beer for guys who aren't really into craft? Thanks for the help.

Oh, yeah, I'm also in Texas, so try and limit suggestions to beers I can find here.

If you can get Founder's breakfast stout that'll work. The Young's is also acceptable in my book.

If you get Martin House beers where you're at I recommend the Day Break. Tastes faintly of Cheerios. It's gooooooood!

If they all enjoy drinking coffee, I think a coffee stout such as FBS would be a good bet. A milk stout like Young's would also be good. Maybe even Lugene or Left Hand if you get their distribution. A hefe or wit might also do the trick if you think a stout might be a little risky.

We will bet FBS in TX this year (fuck yeah) but it won't be here in time for the bachelor party.

I am so sad that you don't get FBS on regular distribution in TX. :slight_frown:

Founders Breakfast Stout is the epitome of a coffee stout.

This is an interesting question. So we're talking the morning after the bachelor party? I couldn't imagine waking up the morning after that and wanting to even look at alcohol haha. I initially thought something like FBS would be perfect, but if I'm hungover and waking up for breakfast the next morning, I'm not sure I'd want something that heavy. When I had Jai Alai I remember thinking it was so citrusy that it was like goddamn orange juice. So maybe something like that? But either way enjoy yourself bud.

TL;DR - A coffee forward stout, but that might be too heavy for hungover morning beer so maybe Jai Alai or citrus heavy IPA.

No Terrapin Wake-n-Bake in TX either. Maybe Abita Purple Haze out of LA? Some call it a "chick beer", but I'll drink it for early morning tailgating.

Sorry guys, if I've had a beer driven boozy night a Bloody Mary or Mimosa is the right answer.

We do long weekends. So we go out Friday night, hang out all day Saturday, and call it on Sunday morning. I'm looking for the Saturday morning brew.

If they normally toss down BMCs in the morning, then a craft stout might well be super-overkill, and not appreciated or even liked. Maybe a lighter beer more likely to meet approval: a pale ale or a hefe, for example. No, it's not going to remind anyone of coffee, but they'd be less likely to turn up their noses at a simple UFO or Paulaner (as examples).

I'm not a big breakfast beer drinker, but I find, on those occasions, a good light beer out in the morning sun is just as satisfying as a dark coffee stout (but in a completely different way).

Funny you ask. I was at a bachelor party this weekend. I had dark lord with breakfast this morning.

I'd bring a mix four, or a mix six (obviously on a grand scale). Founders Breakfast Stout would be lovely, but you need other options. Like, also bring Sierra Nevada Pale Ale. And Jai Alai. And, let's see, one more, I'd go with something light and belgian... hmm... a good Hefe wouldn't go amiss, but I think maybe a saison would also be good. Hennepin, perhaps?

Jai Alai can't be found in Texas, though I would drink that stuff for breakfast or any other time of day.
