Buffalo Bayou's Belgian Quad hits shelves on Friday. Anyone tried it yet? I assume this will be priced the same as Gingerbread Stout.

Ranger Creek Small Batch #6 all over again. I want to believe, but based on their track record, I'm staying away unless it's endorsed by one of the vets or someone graciously shares a pour with me.

I'll buy one for the purple wax. <------- Just kidding.

I will probably buy at least one bottle so I can give it a try. I can try it along side DR13.

I see the gears turning in Houston BAs' heads...

    *hear about beer, see label*

    "Meh, I dunno..."

    *see wax*

    "OMGWTFBBQ! Must have 5 cases!"

That was my thought as well. But if it is priced the same as gingerbread stout like I suspect, then that would be almost double the price of a DR13 bomber!

D&Q is selling it with no purchase limit, so it must not be worth hoarding!

At $15 I can't imagine this flying off the shelves.

Then again it could be so amazing that it can compete with other beers at that price point. I'll probably never find out unless I have the chance to sample it somewhere.

Specs shows a price of $14.73 before cash discount.

For something I feel has more hype because of purple wax I'll probably stay away unless I get to try it at a bottle share

    The purple wax looks pretty...

But at $15 for a bomber I'm probably gonna pass. The DR#13 was less than that most places for a 6-pack. Maybe if I stumble across one I'll buy it, but there certainly won't be any special trips.

I like Rassul and all, but these price points are going to kill his bottle releases. Too many beers to try - why pay $15 for a relatively unknown quality beer when I could have the same sized bottle of so many other great beers for 1/2 the price....

Do you think they charge so much because they make all of these beers with special ingredients, yet neglect to bottle/can their base beers, leading to decreased profits and the need to charge 14 dollars a bottle to recoup their losses?

Not everyone goes to bars, so keg only beers bring in only so many people.

~$15 is way, way too much. I'll pass.

i have no idea why it's that much honestly. it doesn't seem like there's any extra ingredients going in there to drive up that price point...

I know on some of the early batches they were hand filling bottles, but I believe they've had a production line installed since then.....

be an interesting question to ask rassul next time i run into him.... he lives nearby....

Bottle only? Or any idea if this one will be on draft at some point?

If I happen upon it, I might buy a bottle, but not seeking it out. I review basically everything I try if I can, but I can't remember the last time I bought or tired anything from Buffalo Bayou.
