Threads about the price of beer are always relative to location, which many BAs forget. Hoppin Frog beers are slightly on the high side but reasonable for the quality---within the state of Ohio. But outside of Ohio the prices jump drastically, which leads me to suspect it's more a function of the distributors/retailers than the brewery setting the prices.

Not true. Their regular line-up is only $8-$12 for a 750. Their specialties are typically in the $15-$18 dollar range for a 750. Their specialties are also usually 10%+ on the ABV scale, barrel-aged, soured or something else different that helps justify the higher cost.

You can't compare "trade value" to actual cost. It wasn't Perennial that set the ridiculous meter so high on BA Abraxas.

not one particular brewery, but Bombers prices at my Local Swill merchant vary from two different locations within 3miles? My next purchases im going to ask why this is? They have Devil dancer from founders marked at 19.99 a 6 or four pack? I cant remember, but thats not right at all! That shit better send me straight right to satan himself for that freaking price! I blame the distributors here though, Rebel scum!

Still not cheap at all. You act like they don't even belong in the discussion. They do

Mikkeller is by far the most ridiculously priced beer per ounce of tastiness. I haven't had anything from him that I actually liked.

I never said they don't belong in here, unless you go back to the original post...price vs. quality.

If people can say The Bruery is worth $12-$30 for a 750, then Perennial is definitely worth $8-$18.

Trinity from Colorado Springs is usually pretty damn expensive. Little Death Ride is good, but not $26 good, and $20 for a bomber of a Slap Yer Mammy? Wow. Especially when they were self-distributed and had it priced at $30 and had their Triple Cherry at $47. Outrageous.

i agree with the comments on Nebraska Brewing Company and Brewdog. Have not had any of their selections that were worth it for me.

I disagree on The Bruery though. I agree they are pricey but most of their beers are pretty decent - a couple might be over priced but not their whole line

Some of the price complaints are regional. Maine Beer Company was mentioned- and I think Peeper is the most overrated beer on earth- is only $5.99 a bottle around these parts. Not bad for a two week old Another One, King Titus or Lunch (I see Peeper here for $4.99 a bottle and they can keep it). I certainly would not spend much more than that on any of them.
Crooked Stave is another example of $10 plus for a twelve ounce bottle- just picked one up, hopes it worth it. Someone above mentioned $15 being high for a six of Sculpin, I don't think that'so bad considering people regularily spend $7 on a 22 oz bomber and after all it is a world class beer.

For what I've seen, I'd say The Bruery and The Lost Abbey. I haven't tried any beer of both them but they look expensive.

Yea, but Italian packaging is the shit! It really is hard to justify the price.

The Bruery without a doubt have some high prices, as mentioned. But their quality surpasses so many other breweries so I feel like they simply do not belong in a discussion based off of quality. Then again, everyone has a different opinion of what 'quality' is.

I rarely ever look back after purchasing a brew. I have loved every Bruery offering I've tried and had no problem paying the $36+ for the Bois after I did my homework. I feel if the brew is worth it and you're willing to pay then go for it!

However, I do feel Mikkeller is overpriced.
