Label is awesome, beer sounds great, all the recent Rev barrel beers except Very Mad Cow have been exceptional... I am totally down for this. I also love the "we'll have plenty, get here when you get here" mentality. Thanks Revolution, looking forward to this one.

Can't wait to try this! I also saw today that this will be at the Logan Square Beer Fest via Facebook.

I didn't have a chance to try Alderaan but if it is on par with their other Barrel aged offerings I think I will make the trip after work on Wednesday.

    What happened to Saturday releases?

Similar to why the Oktoberfest party is on a Friday this year, my understanding from talking to the bartender on Sunday is that they have too many conflicts with Saturdays for the next several weeks.

Also, it's under 12% - hope that means Ohio gets some!

[IMG]. A little boozy but overall pretty good. This will be very nice in time.

I agree, really bourbon-forward but a nice flavor overall. With age this will be absolutely stunning

Just had one. Gotta say; the base beer is pretty one-dimensional. Sure, some decent barrel on it, but the flavors aren't as complex as I was hoping. True to its name, a lot if tar, plus ash, maybe a little dark chocolate. Not bad by any means, but not fantastic. Showed up expecting to buy a case. Gonna leave with maybe 3.

Just one man's opinion, though. Grab yourself a bottle and give it a go. For $15, why not?

Costs at least $4 in gas & tolls to drive to Rev and back from my house.

deth's tar is definitely better than alderaan. both are very boozy. i think deth's tar could be really good in like 6-8 months once the heat calms down. i bought a half case, most of which is probably going out to trade partners and as extras.

oh by the way, there was no bottle limit. i guess they made quite a lot.

enough about the beer, did anyone grab one of those homemade darth vader oreo cookies? Not sugar forward, nice complex vanilla cream flavors, and a perfect cookie texture (not to dry, not to mushy).

I also took a look at what barrels they had sitting around filled. Looks like more Very Mad Cow, Straightjacket, and Mean Gene are on the way, as well as a barrel-aged Eugene with Boysenberries.so, more tasty stuff on the way.
