Maybe someone can enlighten me, why in an ISO post do people not post a list of beers to trade, they just say "look at my gots" or post a link. Personally I think that is lazy and I don't want to trade with someone who is lazy. Might as well say, ISO BADL FT well I don't want type anymore. Am I missing something here?
When it says "Check my gots" or "Cellar" I'm done at that point. Not my job to take the time to figure out what you should trade me.
Agreed. If you're that lazy that you can't list out the beers you're willing to trade, you're not worth trading with IMO.
I'm floored that you know how to correctly use that word, but are that far off on the spelling. It doesn't quite grind my gears as much as the complaint in the OP, but it definitely confuses me.
Like this shit, http://beeradvocate.com/community/threads/ft-multiple-mango-magnificos-iso-list.112735/ The list is, "Looking for fresh IPA's and tasty Stouts."
difference is that gots and wants require extra clicks to view the person's profile and then find the link to each. at least ft: list iso: list doesn't make you leave the thread.
Okay, so maybe a little bit worse than my example. I guess I just want to know what I'm getting into before I click on someone's post to just be disappointed.
This mess will probably get deleted, but this might be the worst trade post I've ever seen: http://beeradvocate.com/community/threads/new-trader-iso-your-local-ft.112747/
This ^. I think I'm going to just start making the most lopsided offers to these fellas for fun. ISO of Abyss? Yeah, I'll take your BAVDL and CCK...what's your address so I can ship ASAP?
What's worse is when you actually post a few beers you have FT, but then someone chimes in and says "I'm not interested in what you're offering FT, but I see you have CCK in you gots, that's a big time want for me. Can I get that for the 3 shelf beers you're ISO, I'd be willing to add a little to even it up."
See I don't think that one is that awful. He clearly just wants to trade locals to try trading and isn't terribly interested in what the actual beers are. The problem with all the vague "see my cellar/gots" posts, is you have absolutely no idea what they are willing to give up. I'm just going to pass right on by those, as they are way too much work and end up not working out all the time.
