After deliberating with some other glasswhores it has been determined that a community driven #properglassware thread would be really fun and not take away anything from our little band of people obsessed with proper glassware.

    Link: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AgIb4rYJoRrKdFR4ZFNRRnpmQW9lVjZ1cnAyTHV2OGc&usp=sharing

    Rules:

    1) No duplicate glassware unless the duplicate picture posted is a boss pour of a whale or something similar.

    2) Shots of the reverse side of glassware already posted is ok.

    3) This might seem obvious, but if you're doing a beer specific glass that beer must be used (CBS in the CBS snifter, KBS in the KBS goblet, etc.) A beer from that brewery in that same glass will not count and will be deleted if added to the spreadsheet.

I can't really think of anything else at the moment, but I want to be clear that this is just for fun. I don't want to have to moderate this a whole lot so let's not try and make it a jumbled mess. As always all critiques and suggestions are welcome so we can make better product for the community.

Feel free to post your pics here before you add them to the spreadsheet as well. I know we have the "Show off your cool glassware" thread already so let's keep this bitch strictly #properglassware.

Feel free to shoot me a BM if you have any questions/concerns/comments that you might not want to post here.

    Cheers,

    Ryan

Noticed at least one picture was not of the glass listed... double check your stuff!

I threw a few more in.

Why not just put new entries in at the bottom and then sort? Saves a ton of time as long as you highlight all the columns and sort by "brewery".

Google docs sort/filter, often miss sorts links. That's what happened to several of the pictures I posted last night. I think I have them all corrected now (including the Bruery tulip).

Figured it would save everyone time... People just have to make sure they view the whole list including the unsorted entries at the bottom before throwing their stuff in.

I would just explain to people how to move or insert a row. Seems that people are just adding rows to the bottom. That just creates more work for someone else.

That's fine if you're adding one or two at a time, but if you're trying to bust out a bunch, it's much easier to just plug in a bunch of lines at once at the bottom. Sorting them after is really pretty easy, it's just a matter of making sure you aren't screwing up somebody else's lines while they're in the worksheet editing.

The easiest way to add a glass, and to also make sure that it isn't already somewhere on the list, is to find where it should be alphabetically, right click, "add 1 row (above or below)", enter glass.

We need to come up with a SOP

    FYI...

    "Chope" is french for mug.

It looks like I'm going to have to go out and get a bunch of beer for #properglassware shots of the unphotographed low hanging fruit in my collection.

About a week ago I started an effort to #properglassware my entire collection. Good news is I'm drinking beer I haven't had in a long time/ever. The bad news is I'm drinking beer I haven't had in a long time/ever!

if one good thing comes of this, it will be having a repository of glasses with pics to see what they look like (which is awesome), as for the pics themselves it really is a who is the fastest game vs great pic and clearly no one here has jobs or lives

poked through some pictures and some are nice, others are just ok. i know some of you guys are really artsy...i'd love to see this register be filled with great artsy pics...but then again, some of the artsy pics don't really show you the glass.

for example...the current cantillon sherry glass is:

while i LOVE that pic, can't really tell what the glass looks like.

using that same loon glass as an example...the aim is no dups unless a whale...but how many dups do you allow? some brewers just make whales. for example, what about these pics for the same glass...

Maybe it's just me, but I prefer "artsy" over some of these Nick Nolte mugshots. Again, it might just be me.

I want to add the 2012 Zwanze from Crooked Stave but can I just use any old Cantillon or does it have to be Zwanze? I don't have any Zwanze bottles :slight_frown:

Really digging this idea! I seem to have caught whatever it is you guys have.

Love the artsy pics as well but mugshots are more helpful.
