Can someone in the know tell me when Flipside will show up in KY, more specifically Louisville.....

Can you tell me, is it in the same vein as Lagunitas Imperial Red and Troegs NN...or have they gone and done something a bit original? My guess, seeing the hop bill, is that it would differ from those, but since you tried it, would love to hear your POV

West Sacramento. Saw a bunch more yesterday at the Co-op in Sacramento.

I love SN and their beers, but this "everything hoppy is some variation of an IPA" thing is getting old.

Really hope that isn't true (or that SN reconsiders). Brown ales aren't my favorite style by any means, but Tumbler is a nice change of pace, a great example of the style, and a great mid- to late-fall beer. I'm excited about Flipside, but I'd love to see them at least keep a limited late-fall distribution of Tumbler in between Flipside and Celebration.

Went to a SN beer tasting last week and the state rep was there and he mentioned the same thing. Once Tumbler runs out this year, that is it. They will not be brewing it again.

Per the rep, sales of Tumbler have dropped off significanlty. Major factor was all the pumpkin beers.

We asked if SN had any plans to brew a pumpkin beer, and he said, "at this point, no."

Sad about Tumbler, as it's far better than most people think...but respect on not brewing pumpkin beers

Dammit, I hope not. I get excited for THE TUHMBLA every year.

Know how many other beers I purposefully say in a weird way because I'm excited to see them? Fucking none.

    Grrr.

I haven't tried NN, but I found Flipside to be quite different from the Lagunitas Imperial Red. There was a depth in the malt that I didn't really find in the Lagu. Hop profile also skews more spice and pine for me. I've only had one bottle so far, though.

I've never had Troegs, but Lagunitas Imperial Red is one of my favorite beers. I liked Flipside, but it has less of the tropical fruitiness of Lagunitas and much more lasting bitterness. I would say your observation is spot on.

And after making a trip to my local spot to pick up some Dale's Pale Ale (just arrived this week), I find out that Flipside showed up today. They are chilling as we speak and I'll have some later tonight watching the start of college football.

As the esteemed Phil Robertson would say.....

It is GREAT ! I don't care what the reviewed score says. Don't talk me down from the ledge ! I have found my go to for as long as it is a Available. Me likes the Citra hops that caress the backs of my tounge.

I don't like the decision to discontinue Tumbler, but I am excited to try the new red. At least I have the recipe for Tumbler so I can brew up when I want to.

A reddish IPA, with a spicy and piney hop profile. Is this just a non-fresh hop Celebration? And I mean that in the most complimentary, I hope it's true fashion!

I can't wait for Celebration to be back, wish SN made one similar year round. Maybe Flipside will be close.

I hope SN with a new brewery starts brewing more new beers.

Also is this the red IPA in last years beer camp?
