    I had the same experience. The taste was bland, couldn't smell a thing, and it looked absolutely putrid.

    I drank about half the glass, but I just couldn't stomach the courage to drink the chunks at the bottom.

    Yes I was . . . and not only that. I opened a second DIPA to compare and I found that the malt in the pliny is superb. I found that while the fruit was not over the top like some beers that it has an excellence in it's hop qualities. I just tried denoginnizer from drakes. Totally different beers; but the pliny is light and expressive without being the least bit heavy. The drakes has more intense fruit character and has a much heavier malt. They are mere 10ths away from one another in my ratings but if I had to drink two in a row, I would choose the pliny.
