Trip to Peekskill Brewery

    If anyone happens to be at Peekskill today, please report back and let us know if Higher Standard or Shotgun Willie is back on tap. Not listed on beer menus, but they said soon, this weekend would be a good time for it to be back.

    Grabbed growlers of Higher Standard and Simple Sour about a week and a half ago, and cracked the Higher Standard today. So good, and so glad to be able to share with my Ithaca friends.

    Where did you hear that higher standard would be back soon? I'm planning a trip around Labor Day weekend and I'm hoping they have it on tap. Thanks!

    I sent them a tweet on Thursday asking when and they said "so soon". I am guessing you will be good by Labor day. I am not sure how breweries plan batches, but I would think for a holiday weekend and also summer time they would like to have a full complement of their product available.

    That said ... it's summer time now and they don't have what most people consider their three best beers available(Amazeballs, Higher Standard and Shotgun Willie) ...

    That said, I think all their beers are really well crafted and you'd be happy with many of the others. I am just pointing out that they probably would "like" to have everything but fact is they don't right now and Labor Day is only a week and half away (essentially). I feel like Amazeballs was off for several weeks the last time (more than 2) so we will see when these come back. They are pretty good about updating beermenus but calling is obviously always safest.

    Still no Amazeballs or Higher Standard, would be nice to have these for long weekend.

    Per Facebook Wednesday, Higher Standard is back. Per Facebook early Friday, Amazeballs will be back by end of day today. Beermenus is not updated for either as of yet.

    I'm up at Peekskill right now. Amazeballs is back, as is Higher Standard. Also enjoying some Mango Unchained cask while it still lasts - Amazeballs with mango puree.

    Looks like a big day for BAs at Peekskill :slight_smile:! I just got back, got lucky that in addition to the HS I knew they had they also had Amazeballs ready! I was luck enough to get me growlers filled by "The Chief" himself.

    We need to have an official BA get together there, maybe in October sometime.

    The Hudson hop and harvest fest is the first week in October at the park in front of PB. Would be down to crack some bottles and meet some BAs if anyone's interested

    Girlfriend and I made our first trip up from NJ today.

    Really enjoyed the place and the beers were excellent. Brought home a growler of Higher Standard.

    Well worth the trip and we'll be back again

    On day two of my growler of Higher Standard, done now. Still excellent, actually seems to have calmed down a bit. For me, there is so much going on with this beer, many tastes. Day two seems to be less dynamic than day one, in a good way.

    I finally got around to making this trip and I'll say if you're in NYC and you haven't done this yet you're crazy. Train ride was fast, easy and beautiful. Let us out right in front practically. No need to worry about a designated driver. Beer was amazing. Food was damn tasty too. Bartenders were super friendly. Perfect way to kill a Saturday or Sunday afternoon. Seriously, if anybody out there is on the fence about this, do it.
