TAPS to release 30 year Pappy Remy this year

    "2013 Remy aged in Bourbon barrels is tentatively scheduled to be released September 20th and will be $24.99. This year’s Remy will be in 22oz bottles instead of the 11.2oz bottles used in the past. It will be sold at the TAPS Fish House & Brewery and see limited distribution.

    This year TAPS will also release Remy aged in 30 year Pappy Van Winkle barrels. The barrels are currently filled and on display at the Brea location. The Pappy Van Winkle Remy is scheduled for bottling and release this December."

    If the Traces of Remy bottles at El Cerrito Liquor were $30, I wonder what the 30-year PVW bottles will go for. Southern California's first $50 bottle?

    I'm loving how remy and taps are getting love on BA. Victor and crew make great beers! Now we wait until hillbilly becomes Avila me again!

    Does 30-year-old Pappy exist as a spirit? Or are these just really old barrels that once held Pappy 23?

    There is no such a thing as 30 year barrel aged Pappy Van Winkle as far as I know. I would bet money on it.

    Hillbilly is releasing on Saturday Sep. 7th more info to be released on EL Cerrito Liquor Facebook.

    I know this is just in jest, but I have to respond--does 3F even make any good barrel aged beers? The 2013 beers have 2012 Dark Lord, so those were gross. Their barrel aged Alpha Klaus were rank. Their weird one offs were just weird. What is going on with their barrel program? It seems like they have saved some bad beers with it and ruined some good beers... but when is some good beer going to get any better?
