Has anyone tried any of the set lately? Interested to see how they are tasting.

    Thanks,

That's what I trying to get too. Don't want to trade infected beer. I believe Czar Jack was one of the infected. Not a 100% sure, to many beers ago to remember.

Czar Jack was almost all infected. One of the others had some infection issues as well, but I can't remember which.

The Czar Jack I had was shortly after the release and was not infected, but I was just one of the lucky ones.

I had a Czars Jack about 2 months ago and it was definitely infected.

Czar Jacks & Buffalo Bocks were both terribly infected. Opened my last Czar this winter & it was good, but that was an outlier of the several bottles I've sampled. I'd say good bottles of each are going to be rare.

Had a Tumaltuous Rare recently & it was good - no infection.

Wee Jack was reported to be infected, but in truth, was really just not very good.

No idea on the Barrel Monkeyness.

Info much appreciated. Saves everyone a lot of trouble later.

I've had all but one of these in the past 3 months or so, and since I've been blessed with taste buds from the gods themselves, you know you can believe every word I say here...

Buffalo Bock = huge infection, like DD-cup boobie size
Wee Jack = very subtle barrel character but only a B-size cup tartness to it. I'm under the impression that some of the BA reviewers stuffed this one full of tissue paper to make the tartness appear larger than it actually was.
Barrel Monkey = did not have
Czar Jack = huge infection, no doubt: H-cup (we talkin Heidi Montag style)
Tumaltuous Rare = absolutely no barrel character anymore. Was pretty darn tasty when it was fresh

I had Barrel Monkey a year+ ago. No infection, but it sucked. I'm sure aging a barrel-aged DIPA further will do it wonders.
