Hey NE BAs, Me & the wife are heading up to VT tomorrow. So excited to visit this beer mecca. Still relatively new to craft beer so I do have a few questions: Does the Alchemist have a limit for Heady Topper purchases? How much does a case cost? Where can I find Lawson's Finest Liquids bottles? Are they difficult to acquire? What is the best time to arrive at Hill Farmstead? Do they fill other breweries growlers? What are the best beer bars in VT? Will be staying near Waterbury. Heard that's a great spot. Super pumped, you guys!! Thanks in advance. P.S. I heard Heady's been selling out fast lately. What are some under the radar spots to buy it?
Limits change weekly: https://twitter.com/alchemistbeer Cost: http://beeradvocate.com/community/threads/how-much-does-heady-cost.98597/ http://www.lawsonsfinest.com/about.php http://beeradvocate.com/community/threads/vermont-breweries-growler-policies.103862/#post-1531782 This, this, this, this, this, this, this, etc. http://www.alchemistbeer.com/retail-availability/ Enjoy!
Every one of your questions can be answered by using the search function. These questions are asked daily. There are at least 4 threads on the first page of this forum that can answer those questions. People are far more likely to helpful if you at least show a little initiative.
So tired of these, I never answer anymore, even when I could be helpful. I'll let the out-of-towners reply from now on - they can handle the repetition.
I can handle this one duchess, They do have limits on heady cases, right now they are at 1 per person and they cost 72 plus tax, so right around 80 bucks. Lawson's is definitely hard to find but when it is around the coop in Montpelier gets their delivery on Fridays and you can look around out in warren and waitsfield, but they are not as easy as heady to come by, be forewarned. Hill farmstead opens at 12 and i would suggest getting there early or as close to 12 as possible or plan on waiting. They do fill other growlers just make sure they are brown glass, anything else they won't fill. The best beer bars in vt is obviously subjective, but be sure to hit prohibition pig and blackback pub in Waterbury. In Montpelier there is three penny taproom, a must visit, also positive pie in Montpelier has a decent beer selection. And if you can make the trip worthy burger in south royalton or worthy kitchen in Woodstock are awesome as well. In regards to your search for heady, you are best to search when you first arrive and/or just try to get it from the brewery because most places get delivered early in the week and by the weekend it's all gone. However if you need to search I would suggest looking out in the waitsfield area or warren area, but most places carry it in central vt but they sell out quick. Hope some of this helps and feel free to message if you have more questions.
Wow! Thanks so much for the help everybody. Still learning the ins & outs of the site. Looking forward to visiting your beautiful state.
Stickies don't seem to be something that's going to happen... You guys should build a "Vermont trip" thread with many of the repetatively asked questions being addressed. Auror put one together for Boston, and linking it to this type of thread tends to be a great option in lieu of a sticky.
if you're going to reply, at least give accurate info. The only places to buy Lawson's bottles are the Warren store on Thursday sometime between 10-2, Hunger Mountain in Montpelier Friday late mornings, and Beverage Warehouse in Winooski early afternoon on Friday.
I know what you are saying, but Vermonters could show appreciation for what they have by helping anyone who asks.
Lived in VT for first 25 years of my life. Been in Boston for last 8, but come home often to visit family.
Almost the the same as me! Lived in vt moved to Boston and then moved back. So when are you leaving the dark side and moving back to the Mecca?
