Diggity damn! I don't know if I missed the greyhound on this thing, or the greyhound turned into a bullet train and missed the stop; but this son of a lady of the evening is off the hook. Juicy, smooth, juicy and smooth!

you missed the greyhound. truly great beer that's been great for awhile. would love better access to fresh drakes, they know what they're doing.

I'm speaking more in the sense that I haven't seen much love for it. And to be honest, when I see a lot of hype on BA I usually try and check something out. For Drake's Aroma Coma, I have seen zero hype, yet I find it to be an amazing beer.

a year or two ago you could see the occasional "shhhh, if people get wind of aroma coma, i won't be able to buy it anymore!" type "hype," but yeah. my guess (you'd know better than me) is that drake's has some clunker regular rotation beers that put them under the beer geek radar? aroma coma is the shit though.

Love being close to Drakes and hitting up the fresh Coma and Prieta!
What I meant to say was, no bueno, stay away!

Just in general (my first time having it) I think that it is a supremely great beer. But more so, I see Drake's as one of the breweries that is yet to have national distribution, so it kind of stood out more. In the end, like AleSmith, Ballast Point, Sierra Nevada, Green Flash, Port, Firestone, etc., I see it as another West Coast brewery that will distribute nationally and will become somewhat diluted.

I really wish they'd just brew it year round and put it in sixers. I do enjoy it very much on tap, but I have a hard time being excited about paying $8-$9/bomber for an IPA.

I drank as much Aroma Coma as I could get my hands on this summer. Easily my favorite beer over that time. Haven't seen it in a few weeks, unfortunately. Had Aroma Prieta on tap and it was also fantastic. I was hoping Denogginzer would be just as good and was quite disappointed. So much so I thought maybe it was a bad bottle or something and bought another one recently to see if it's any better (haven't had it yet, though). I doubt there was really anything wrong with it but it was just so hard to believe the people who made Aroma Coma and Prieta made that, too.

Probably not fresh. Their freshness dates are very hard to read. Denogenizer is ALL OVER the place around here. It is hard to find a bottle fresh. I had one old and felt that It actually had great potential to be awesome.

Hit me up! I work for a distributor, and Drakes happens to be one of our suppliers :sunglasses:

Aroma Coma is amazing! It was definitely one of the top 5 revelations last year for me. I live about 30 min from the brewery and it's even better there.

I just tried it and I concur. It was the surprise find of the season for me. In fact the name is apt as my eyes rolled up a little when I first leaned in to observe the nose.

Maybe it's just me but I only loved the nose of Coma while I can find Denogginizer pretty fresh (two or three weeks of bottling) and I love it, especially at $6 from Trader Joes.

I"ve been eying Aroma Coma for a while and have yet to pull the trigger. I'll be sure to add it to the cart on my next purchase. I do have a Denogginizer in the cellar, but it is probably too old by now. It's at least 2-3 months old. Oh well, I'll give it a try this weekend to see if I can pick up what it was once.

I second all the comments above. Amazing beer that I found for the first time this year. Will become a regular trade for.

I was lucky enough to trade for one a year or so ago....it was amazing! Such a damn good beer, I wish I could get it here.

If anyone wants to trade any, give me a shout

It didn't seem to get much love this year. In fact, there was a thread in the Pacific forum about how it wasn't that good this year. I thought it was very good.

Had a Denogenizer in the pub last night (stock came in that day). Wasn't until after I shelled out £13/$20 that I realised it was seven months old.

I could see the potential in it also if fresh.

Drake's Hopocalypse is another really, really good brew. I enjoyed Aroma Coma, too.

Aroma Coma was unreal.. Which lead me to believe that their standard IPA would be good.. Not so much.
