Two Brother's Heavy Handed is the highlight of the hop harvest for me. They brew up different batches using different hop varieties, labeled accordingly. For those who take beer seriously, this IPA showcases the different roles different hops play.

Long Trail's Harvest isnt that good. It said it contains maple syrup but I barely tasted it.

Not sure if you meant their regular Harvest ale (which is nice enough) or their 5 Mile Hop harvest... I think the latter is terrific and a sleeper of an awesome beer. That and the Founders Harvest are the 2 that came to mind when I read the OP.

Almanac Cascade is very nice. Chinook was more bitter and less balanced but still tasty.

Do the SN Northern and Southern Hemisphere Harvest Ales count? 'Cuz I liked both of those...

But Founders is still my #1...

Founders. Not only the best Harvest Ale, but one of the best beers on the planet.

Forgive my ignorance, but what exactly is the definition of a "harvest ale?" I've always been slightly confused on it.

However, I did enjoy the two pints I got of ST Harvest the other week, great beer.

Founders is my favorite. Locally I really like Sebago Local Harvest. Tomorrow I'm going to the brewery to help pick hops for this year's release. I'm really looking forward to it.

No question, Founders Harvest. A good second is Port High Tide.

I don't if it is the best, but it is pretty good. I think it was my first BA review ever.

I was thinking of this until I read the OP's actual post.

It took me a quick search, but Sebego Local Harvest was good, although I can only get it when I'm up in Maine.
