I had no idea this existed. I would think carbonation would be a issue. It just all in all seems like a bad idea. That being said if I saw this in the store I would no doubt purchase it immediately.

I'm sorry...but does that box say that it contains TEN FREAKING LITERS? For only 39 Euro?

Damn you, Massachusetts for not allowing me to have this shipped to my house immediately!

I just got the special tap for these boxed ones, 1st box is Mikkeller Walk on Water. I think it is a great idea for those European beers to come in a one way biodegradable box. The beer is sealed, no CO2 or air touches the beer.

A budy of mine in Germany buys bags of fresh lambic in that format. Conceivably, you could do some blending.

Why would carbonation be an issue? It's a 10L tap, but instead of a keg, it's in a sealed plastic bag.More to the point, take a look at this note on the Lambic version:
I wonder if anyone is bringing this kind of packaging to BBF

Blowing up the sealed plastic bag and using it as a pillow after killing a box is an advantage.

Are we talking beer is in the box? Or beer in bottles is in a box? Cause I just bought some beer from a brewery called Dragonmead in Michigan, it's in a box but still in bottles. They even say on the box they keep it in a box to keep the beer fresh so no light can get to the bottles. Kind of a smart idea.

I've heard some bars have had problems with their taps and have pulled them.

I don't doubt it because a bar has to have their taps installed, because they carb at the tap or close.

It is as every bit amazing as it sounds. Completely flat straight out of the barrel. It worth it if your on the fence. Once its opened I'd say you have a couple of months before it goes bad as it gravity feed tap and no O2 gets in.

You sir have the same vision, only I made it a reality.

Should be great for Lost Abbey. They can't seem to carbonate anything as it is, so it shouldn't be a problem.

My only worry is once that box gets opened, it will be drank very fast. Every night I'll be like "well the box is open, might as well have a few."

the creator of this needs to make fast friends with the originator of "pizza in a cup". the two could make history.

We get boxed cider in the UK. I think it's normally uncarbonated.
