Does anyone know of other similar type releases to Vertical Epic or weird things like leap year beers outside of the two below? I know there is The Bruery's 12 Days of Christmas and there was Elysian's Beers of the Apocalypse. Does another brewery do something like Stone's Odd Year releases for OG and RIS? Since there aren't likely that many out there, this thread can be about themed releases you would like to see and by which brewery.

This was for the Vertical Epic thread that just got closed. I was gonna say," that they could release a Leap Year beer, but that is pushing it, as is a 1/1/1 beer, which they could actually do since they started with 2/2/2. However, I am pretty sure it is done."

Personally, I would love to see a nice ageable leap year beer (a search only brings up: Leap Year NWPA & Willoughby Leap Year Rye), like a nice double digit Stout, Barleywine, or perhaps a nice sour that is C&C. However, this would have to wait until 2016 or somebody could put one out now to be opened then. Ideally, a brewery would have put a bunch of sours into a beer in 2012 to be opened in 2016 or they could BA some beer for 4 years, but that is a bit long. I know this is all unrealistic but would be cool. Cantillon would be the best candidate for this. Does anyone know if there is a Leap Year beer festival?

p.s. I tried to find a thread with a similar topic, but couldn't find one; however, I wasn't sure what exactly my search terms should be.

Hmmm... Not sure exactly what your criteria is, but ommegang has their game or thrones beers (iron throne blonde and take the black stout), as well as marble brewing out of New Mexico doing breaking bad. I'd support a walking dead beer!

"Themes" is kind of hard since many beers, be it title or artwork for the label or ingredients, draw upon different cultural/historical aspects (astronauts hate beer via a comic book, hunahpu being a reference to a Mayan god, etc.). Avery has its demonic series (forget the name).

I'd love to see a mythology/folklore themed run of beers from varying cultures. Thor vs. Zeus, Ra vs. Apollo, etc. Sounds like a job for Pipeworks.

Apparently, Amager Bryghus (Denmark) has already done a Sinner Series with Envy and Greed as year round releases with the other ones having been released as one offs.

Every now and then, like before bed I always try to think of releases I would shoot for/want to do if I was a professional brewer.

    Rivertown in Cincinnati.

In 2012, leading up to December 21, 2012 their Brewmaster's Reserve Limited Release Series released a beer for each of the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse. Pestilence, War, Famine, Death.

I think these were the Demons of Ale; Mephistopheles, The Beast, Samael; maybe others?
